I donβt usually comment but I just read that Switzerland and Turkey are trying to make a deal about their borders

. To be honest, it sounds like they're doing it because of all the crazy stuff going on with refugees in Europe right now. It's like, everyone's just really worried about who's crossing their borders and not getting caught

.
I don't blame them for wanting to secure their borders, I mean, safety first, right?

But at the same time, it feels like we're missing out on an opportunity to talk about some of the root causes of all this migration. Like, what's driving people to leave their homes in the first place? Is it just war and poverty, or is there something more going on?
It's also weird that Switzerland's got a special deal with Turkey while countries like Germany and France don't

. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Germany and France are bad at dealing with this stuff, but it does seem a little... selective?

Maybe we need to just take a step back and try to figure out what's really going on here instead of just trying to build walls
