man this UK immigration detention centre is like a ticking time bomb
it's crazy how many incidents have skyrocketed in just one year - 28 reported cases? that's insane! and the fact that they had to investigate 22 Serco officers for serious misconduct, including allegations of racism, is just disturbing
but at the same time, I'm glad to see some good vibes from Serco staff who showed empathy towards vulnerable detainees
it's like, yeah, we get it, these people are scared and alone, and we should be trying to help them out more, not making things worse
and omg, 700 days? that's a whole lotta time being locked up for no reason
it's no wonder they had mental health issues from all that confinement. and what's up with the Rwanda migration scheme that was scrapped anyway? was it ever really going to work?
anyway, I'm just saying, these detention centres need a major overhaul
like, we can't just keep locking people up without even questioning whether they're actually being detained for a crime or not
. And the fact that some staff showed empathy towards vulnerable detainees is actually super encouraging 
. But at the same time, it's shocking to hear about the "volatile and less safe" facility and all the complaints about assault and racism... what kind of environment are we creating for people who just need a helping hand?

. I mean, 22 Serco officers under investigation for assault is not something you want to see, and the reports of migrants being held for over 700 days just makes me think about human rights

I mean, we can all agree that freedom is important, but sometimes it feels like they just toss these poor people out without a safety net 
. It's not fair to either side, really. The staff are trying their best, but this place needs some serious reform ASAP

. Until we see real change and actual numbers backing it up, I'll just be sitting here watching these reports come out and going "yeah right"... 
And what's up with all these complaints of assault and racism? Like, how can you treat people that way? 
We gotta do better than this. More empathy from Serco staff would be a good start. But let's not sugarcoat it - these incidents need to get fixed ASAP

. I've had those kinds of meltdowns at work when I just need a coffee break, lol. And what's up with all these investigations against Serco staff? Like, I get it, they might have done something wrong, but sometimes you gotta give people a chance to make things right 
. 700 days in detention though? That's just crazy talk...
. And don't even get me started on the Rwanda scheme, who thought that was a good idea anyway? 
it's just a fancy way of saying 'we can't take all the refugees so let's send them to some other country and hope for the best'.
