Ugh I'm glad someone is finally looking into this Home Reit scandal
. 300 million pounds is a huge amount of money and it's not okay that people are accused of taking advantage of vulnerable people struggling with homelessness. But, I mean, how can we be sure that these six suspects really did take part in the alleged wrongdoing? The government needs to do more to investigate and make sure they're not just covering up for people in positions of power
.
And what about all the charities and foundations who spoke out against Home Reit's substandard accommodation? Why didn't they get any attention or support from the authorities back then? It's like they were just pawns in a bigger game
. I'm glad that the Noble Tree Foundation is speaking out now, but it would've been great to see more action taken sooner.
I'm also worried about what this means for social housing funding in general. If people can take advantage of a £300m fund like this, how much more money do we think could be siphoned off? We need to make sure that our social housing system is protected and transparent
