Sleaford Mods go metal detecting: best podcasts of the week

Sleaford Mods' metal detecting adventure may have been a bit of a misfire, but that's not to say it didn't offer a unique experience. The offbeat interview show 'Do I Detect a Problem?' pairs unlikely guests with a spot of metal detecting and some intimate conversation, à la "What's one piece of gold you've found in your life?" Unfortunately for the producers, this setup translates more effectively as a visual podcast than an audio-only format.

On a brighter note, Phil Collins' latest profile series is shaping up to be a fascinating exploration of his meteoric rise to fame. The BBC Sounds exclusive takes listeners on a journey through Collins' tour days with Peter Gabriel, dressed in elaborate outfits, and even features interviews with those who've worked closely with him, including the man who performed his iconic solo hit while dressed as a gorilla – yes, you read that right.

Meanwhile, Dr Ruja Ignatova's enigmatic podcast is back for another series, this time focusing on the events surrounding Putin's rise to power in Russia. The team claims they've finally got their best lead in years, but will it be enough to crack the case of the elusive Cryptoqueen?

History enthusiasts won't want to miss 'The History Bureau,' a thought-provoking look at an infamous event that has sparked intense debate – four bombs killing over 300 people weeks into Putin's leadership. Journalists speaking out about alternative theories might just shed some new light on this pivotal moment.

If you're looking for something lighthearted, Ant and Dec are set to bring their signature banter to 'Hanging Out With Ant and Dec,' a loose and hilarious podcast that promises to feel like hanging out with friends. And finally, fans of surreal comedy won't want to miss the latest installment of 'The Harry Hill Show.'

Wow 🤯 I mean, it's just so cool how some old-school legends like Phil Collins are still killing it in the music industry. I'm also intrigued by Dr Ruja Ignatova's new podcast series - all these cryptic clues about Putin's rise to power are giving me major Sherlock vibes! 😏

I'm not sure about Sleaford Mods' metal detecting show, it just doesn't seem like my cup of tea 🤔. I mean, I love a good chat as much as the next person, but pairing metal detecting with an interview? It's a bit of a weird combo for me. On the other hand, Phil Collins' profile series is looking super interesting - I've always been a fan of his music and it'll be cool to see him talk about his experiences. And then there's Dr Ruja Ignatova's podcast which is like a real-life mystery novel 🤯... Will they crack the case? Maybe it's time for me to give one of those shows a try 😊

omg I'm so confused about this metal detecting thing... can someone explain it to me? 🤔 is it just for fun or what's the point of finding old stuff in the ground? 💸 also, Phil Collins as a gorilla sounds kinda wild 🦒 I wonder if he still wears those outfits on stage... 💃 does anyone know how he gets his hair to do that fancy stuff? 😂

I'm so over metal detecting podcasts 🤯 I mean, what's next? Treasure hunting on YouTube Live? 😂 But seriously, Sleaford Mods' adventure was actually kinda cool. They should've just stuck with a more straightforward format, though. And Phil Collins is always interesting to listen to, but that Peter Gabriel era tour doc sounds like a total trip - I need it in my life ASAP 🎸.

And what's up with Dr Ruja Ignatova? The Cryptoqueen case has been dragging on for ages, and I'm starting to lose hope. Can we get some actual progress or just a good conspiracy theory spin-off instead? 😒

On the bright side, Ant and Dec are back, which means it's gonna be a wild ride on their podcast 🤣 And if you're feeling down, The Harry Hill Show might just lift your spirits. History buffs, though, will wanna dive into that Putin doc - I'm intrigued! 🔍

Man, I'm loving these podcasts right now 🤩! You know what's crazy? Phil Collins' old tour days were like something out of a movie - can you imagine seeing Peter Gabriel in all that fancy dress? 😂 Those guys knew how to put on a show. But for real though, Dr Ruja Ignatova's podcast is getting really good at digging up some wild info. I mean, the Cryptoqueen case has been going on for ages and it still feels like nobody knows what's really going on. Fingers crossed they get that lead they're talking about.

And 'The History Bureau' sounds super intriguing - four bombs killing over 300 people? That's some heavy stuff. I've always wondered if we ever really know the full story behind events like that. On a lighter note, Ant and Dec are always good for a laugh 🤣. Their banter is on point. And 'The Harry Hill Show' is just pure comedy gold - I mean who else can make you laugh with something as simple as a dodgy joke? 😂

omg i just watched this new phil collins doc on bbc sounds & it's SO good! 🤩 he's got some amazing stories from his tour days w/ peter gabriel & even talks about performing in a gorilla costume lol. and the dr ruja ignatova podcast is back w/ a new series about putin's rise to power... seems like they've finally got a lead? 🤔 also, 'the history bureau' sounds super interesting - can't wait to dive into that one! 😂

I mean think about it... we're so used to consuming information in this hyper-visual world 📺, our brains are wired to respond better to sights and sounds rather than just one or the other. It's like, remember that time I was on a train and someone next to me fell asleep - the sound of their snores is way more memorable than what they were doing at that exact moment 😴... but now with podcasts we're stuck in this audio-only format, it's almost like our brains are getting left behind 🤯.

I'm still not convinced about metal detecting as a way to get to know people lol 🤔♂️. I mean, it's just not my thing. Sleaford Mods were great, but even that was more entertaining as a live show than this podcast format 🎶. On the other hand, Phil Collins' doc sounds like a wild ride – who knew he dressed up in all those outfits on tour? 🤡♂️ I'm curious about Dr Ruja's podcast though, that Cryptoqueen is still a mystery and I love a good unsolved case 🧐.

The History Bureau thing though, I'm not sure how much new light it'll shed. We already know Putin's rise to power was pretty messed up 💔. But hey, if you're into that sort of thing, go for it! And Ant and Dec sound like they'll bring the laughs in their new podcast 👍. Can't wait to tune in 📺

I'm so curious about Dr Ruja Ignatova's podcast, is she really a Cryptoqueen? 🤑 I mean, I've heard that nickname before but I never thought it was real... does she have some evidence to back up her claims? 💡 And what makes this latest series so special? Is there something new they've found out about Putin's rise to power? 🤔

I'm not sure what's more cringeworthy – Phil Collins going back to his tour days or someone dressing up as a gorilla 🐒 to perform his solo hit. The idea just seems so extra. Meanwhile, I do think Dr Ruja Ignatova's podcast is getting some serious attention for its investigation into Putin's rise to power – fingers crossed they get that lead right this time 👍

I gotta say, I'm intrigued by Sleaford Mods' metal detecting show 🤔... it's definitely not your average chat show! But yeah, I can see why it might not translate as well on audio-only format. On a more serious note, the BBC Sounds Phil Collins series is gonna be so juicy 🍊... I love how they're digging into his tour days with Peter Gabriel and other behind-the-scenes stories! And Dr Ruja Ignatova's Cryptoqueen podcast is always good for some wild conspiracy theories 🔮... let's hope they crack the case this time around! 👀

🤔 I think it's kinda cool how Phil Collins' profile series is bringin' back all these wild stories from his tour days with Peter Gabriel... I mean, who woulda thought you'd find out he performed a solo show while dressed as a gorilla? 😂 That's the kinda thing that makes me wanna listen to more of it. And yeah, Dr Ruja Ignatova's podcast is always gettin' some interesting buzz goin' on... but I'm not sure how much I wanna know about Putin's rise to power just yet... 🤷‍♂️

omg I'm loving the new Phil Collins series on BBC Sounds 🤩! I mean, who wouldn't wanna hear about his epic tour days with Peter Gabriel and all that drama? And can we talk about how iconic is the gorilla guy 🐒?! But what's really got me hyped is 'The History Bureau' – I'm super curious to see if they'll finally get some real answers on those bombings... maybe it'll be like that one time Clueless revealed all the secrets 😜. On a totally different note, have you guys seen Ant and Dec's old chat show? 🤣 They're just gonna bring that same energy to their new podcast!
