Social media's beauty filters may look harmless – but they're quietly affecting Black youths' mental health

can't believe these companies aren't taking responsibility for their algorithms & how they perpetuate racism 😒💻 online racism is real & it's affecting our youth, can't we do better than this? 🤦‍♀️

This news is really worrying 🤕 . I feel like we're at a point where our kids are being fed all these negative vibes online, and it's affecting their mental health in big ways 😔.

The numbers they found out are crazy - 6 experiences a day on average for Black adolescents! That's like, a lot of exposure to racism and bias 🤯. And when the study said that algorithmic bias was associated with depressive and anxious symptoms... yeah, that just breaks my heart 💔.

We need to take action here! We can't just rely on companies to regulate themselves or expect governments to step in eventually ⏰. We need concrete laws and regulations to protect our kids from this online harm 🚫.

And what's even more concerning is the role of AI in all this 🤖. I mean, we're already living in a world where machines are making decisions based on biases... it's like, totally messed up 🚮.

Anyway, let's hope that people in power start listening and do something about this ASAP 💪. We need to keep our kids safe online, you know? 🙏
