I mean... can't believe this guy just quits after gettin' found guilty like that 
. Two years is a pretty long time to be outta the game, but I guess when you're willin' to walk away even with a conviction under your belt, that's somethin' right there

The thing that's got me thinkin', though, is why he didn't just take his medicine like everyone else? I mean, we've all been in situations where we gotta swallow some hard stuff and move on. But for him to just up and quit after bein' caught... it just feels kinda convenient

I mean, come on, 2 years is a pretty standard ban from public office, but Garcia Ortiz just walks away like it's nothing? I'm all for due process and whatnot, but if you're found guilty of leaking confidential info, shouldn't that carry more weight than a simple resignation? It feels like the government is kinda letting him off the hook here. And I get it, García Ortiz wants to maintain some dignity, but his commitment to public service was clearly compromised by his actions... and now he's just gonna appeal everything without actually serving out his sentence or taking responsibility for what happened? 
? it doesn't add up. and now his colleagues are all like "oh, we respect the verdict" but if they really did, wouldn't they want some answers about how this happened in the first place? 
another thing, what's with the lack of notification? a 2yr ban is one thing, but not even having a full explanation for the verdict without it being widely discussed online is concerning to me
