Starbucks To Pay $38.9 Million To Settle Violations Of New York City Labor Law

This is crazy, right? 🤯 15k+ workers in NYC just got screwed outta their extra cash for years and now they're gonna get paid like $50/week from July '21 to '24 🤑 But it's not just that - this sets a huge precedent. If the mayor-elect & Senator Bernie are even showing up to support these workers, what does that say about the whole labor movement in this city? 💪 This "Red Cup Rebellion" is like, super necessary. Starbucks needs to clean up their act ASAP or face more consequences ⚠️

😒 I'm all about those worker rights! This is like, so long overdue for a company like Starbucks that's supposed to be all about serving the people, but in reality was basically treating its employees like disposable cups 💧. 500k infractions? 🤯 That's crazy! But you know what's even crazier? The fact that they tried to get away with it for so long and then just rolled out a settlement that's still super bare-bones compared to what workers deserve 🤑. I mean, $50 a week is nice, but like, come on! 💸 The city needs to step up its game and make sure these kinds of companies can't just waltz in and disregard their employees' basic rights without facing the consequences 💪.
