In a weekend filled with intense basketball action, several local high schools showcased their skills and competitiveness. The stands were abuzz as these teams battled it out in thrilling matches.

At DePaul Prep, the team dominated the court, taking down Hyde Park 60-28. Kenwood followed suit, defeating St. Francis de Sales 50-35. Meanwhile, Simeon High proved to be an unstoppable force, crushing Manley 81-51.

In a highly anticipated matchup, St. Ignatius took on Benet in the De La Salle-St. Ignatius series, emerging victorious with a score of 69-65. The match also secured their spot as the title winners in the competition.

The rivalry between St. Laurence and Richards was another highlight, with St. Laurence securing the win by 29 points, 69-40. Evergreen Park's 69-67 upset over St. Rita was a nail-biting finish that left fans on the edge of their seats. In other matchups, Tinley Park edged out Hancock 44-48 and U-High won 42-48 against Johnson.

On the other side of town, Peoria IMSA took down Pekin 57-48 in the Roundball Classic.

Just saw this round-up from local high school basketball and I'm impressed by how far these kids have come 🤯! But seriously, it got me thinking - what's with all the emphasis on winning at such a young age? I mean, don't get me wrong, sports are an amazing way to build character and teamwork skills, but shouldn't we be focusing more on developing those qualities rather than just coming out on top?

And can we talk about how crazy some of these scores are?! 🤯 81-51?! That's like, a whole different game! It sounds like some of these teams are struggling to develop their strategy or something. Anyways, I'm glad to see the local high schools getting some love and having fun playing hoops 💪.
 
omg did u know that there's this one player from st ignatius who's supposed to be super good he scored like over 20 points in each game i wonder if hes gonna get a college scholarship 🤔🏀 anyway, its so cool how these high school basketball teams are all playing each other theyre all so competitive and hyped u should check out the games on stream or youtube i heard st laurence's win over richards was super close 👀
