Suspicious fire erupts in Chatham

A suspicious fire broke out in a Chatham apartment building on the South Side late Sunday night. Chicago police are now leading the investigation into possible arson, which occurred at approximately 11:35 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Eberhart Avenue.

Fortunately, no residents were injured and no one was forced to evacuate their homes due to the blaze. However, a fire department spokesperson remains uncooperative with authorities, as officials struggled to determine the cause of the fire.

๐Ÿค” this is just another example of how quickly our priorities change when it comes to property vs people's safety, you know? like, what if that fire had spread and some lives were lost or worse? would the whole community be giving the fire department a hard time then? but nope, because nobody was hurt, everyone's all good. meanwhile, those authorities are just trying to figure out how this even happened in the first place... ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ

Man that's super scary what if someone tried to scare them out or just wanted to cause some trouble? You feel me? I'm glad no one got hurt but still kinda weird that fire department is being like "nope we won't tell" ๐Ÿ˜’. They gotta let authorities know what happened, you know? Like, how hard can it be to talk about a fire? It's not like they're gonna incriminate themselves or something ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Hopefully they figure out what went down and can get some answers soon ๐Ÿ‘.

๐Ÿš’ another suspicious fire in chicago... what's going on here? first it's a gas leak, then a electrical issue, now a possible arson... is this just a series of bad luck or is something more sinister at play? i'm not buying that it was just an accident ๐Ÿ˜’. and can we please get some answers from the fire department about what's really going on? their spokesperson seems super dodgy ๐Ÿ™„. and why didn't residents get evacuated, that's weird too... did they just think everything would be fine? ๐Ÿค”. chicago, you need to get to the bottom of this.

Ugh, can you believe what happened in that Chatham apartment building? I mean, it's crazy that no one got hurt, but at the same time, there's this whole mystery surrounding the fire... like, was it really an accident or something more sinister ๐Ÿค”. And with the fire department not cooperating with the investigation, it's super frustrating. It's always weird when you can't get to the bottom of these things. I remember watching those old crime dramas from back in the day and they'd always solve the mystery in like 5 minutes, you know? ๐Ÿ˜‚ But seriously, hope everyone gets to the bottom of this and it doesn't turn out to be some big deal...

Just saw this news about that apartment building in Chatham Chicago ๐Ÿค”. Can't believe it, so lucky no one got hurt ๐Ÿ˜Œ. Fire departments like that can be super scary for people who live there, imagine waking up in the middle of the night to flames everywhere ๐Ÿ”ฅ. I feel bad for the fire department, but they gotta cooperate with the police, that's just common sense ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

So weird that it happened at 11:35 p.m., feels like someone was trying to do some damage control or something ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. Hope the authorities figure out what went down soon, and get to the bottom of this possible arson ๐Ÿ”ฌ. Fingers crossed everything gets sorted out without any more drama ๐Ÿ’ช.

Ugh ๐Ÿ˜ฉ just heard about that apartment building fire in Chicago ๐Ÿ“ and I'm so relieved nobody was hurt ๐Ÿ™, it's crazy how quickly things can go from peaceful to chaotic ๐Ÿ’ฅ. And now the fire department is being super unhelpful? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ like what even is that? Can't they just give the authorities some info on what happened? ๐Ÿ“ I mean I get it, there might be some bad stuff going down, but come on ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿš’. It's not good for anyone involved when everyone's being tight-lipped about something like this. Fingers crossed the police are able to figure out what happened and bring whoever or whatever is responsible to justice ๐Ÿ’ช.

Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Fire's like crazy! Hope everyone in that building is safe. Police need to figure out what happened ASAP ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ. 8000 block of Eberhart Avenue, sounds like some random spot. Arson can be so scary, at least no one got hurt tho ๐Ÿ™. Why fire department guy not talking, seems suspicious ๐Ÿค”. Wonder if it was just a malfunction or something more sinister ๐Ÿšจ.

๐Ÿค” So this fire in Chatham is a big deal, but let's put things into perspective - thankfully no one got hurt ๐Ÿ˜Œ. It's always scary when fires break out, especially at night when everyone's sleeping. But I guess it's good that the authorities are looking into possible arson - that's just common sense.

What's weird though is that the fire department spokesperson isn't being very cooperative with the police ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. I mean, it's their job to answer questions and help figure out what happened, but if they're not doing that, it's gonna be tough for anyone to determine the cause of the fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

I wonder if maybe the fire department is trying to hide something? ๐Ÿค” Or maybe there's just some miscommunication going on - either way, it's a good thing no one was hurt and we can all try to stay safe until this gets sorted out ๐Ÿ’ก.

just heard about this, can't believe what I just read ๐Ÿคฏ! suspicious fire in Chatham apartment building... hope everyone's okay ๐Ÿ˜”. arson investigation underway, police leading the way ๐Ÿ’ช. not sure why FD spokesperson isn't cooperating with authorities though, should be working together to figure out what happened ๐Ÿ”. lucky no one was hurt or forced to leave their homes ๐Ÿ™. we need more funding for fire safety and prevention programs so these types of incidents can be prevented in the future ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ”’. I guess it's just another day where technology (smart home devices, anyone?) could potentially help prevent fires from spreading ๐Ÿ”Œ๐Ÿ’ก... just saying ๐Ÿ‘€.

man this is super frustrating ๐Ÿคฏ what's going on in chatham?! first it's fires and now they're not even cooperating with cops? like come on fire department if there's something suspicious go talk to the police! don't make them dig through all that info themselves... anyway glad no one got hurt, but seriously how hard is it to put out a small fire? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Come on! This is just another case of a fire being ruled out as arson and everyone breathing a sigh of relief... what about the actual culprit?! ๐Ÿ™„ I mean, what's going on here? First off, you've got a suspicious fire in an apartment building that could've easily killed someone. And now we're trying to play it cool like nothing happened. The fire department is being super uncooperative with authorities? That just means they're trying to hide something! What if there was a gas leak or something?! We can't just ignore the possibility of foul play here... this whole thing smells fishy, you know?! ๐ŸŸ

omg that's so scary! cant believe ppl would do such thing ๐Ÿคฏ what if it was someones family living in that building? like, think about all the people who were lucky enough to be safe tho, 0/10 for whoever did this though ๐Ÿ˜ก anyway its just crazy how fast fires can spread u get a call in at like 11 pm and by the time ppl get there its already like half the building gone ๐Ÿš’ guess thats what they mean by emergency situations being life or death lol glad nothing major happened tho ๐Ÿ’”

So there's this crazy fire at an apartment building in Chicago... like, what even is that?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I hope nobody was hurt, because that would be super bad. The thing is, no one got hurt, so that's good, right? ๐Ÿ™ But seriously, fires can be super scary and destructive, and it's just weird that the fire department isn't cooperating with the cops trying to figure out what happened.

I don't know, maybe they're still investigating or something... I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they ever find out for sure. It's just really frustrating when things like this happen, because you don't know what's going on or why it happened in the first place. ๐Ÿค” But at least no one got hurt, so that's a good thing, I guess. Fingers crossed everything gets figured out soon and nobody else has to deal with something like this! ๐Ÿคž

Ugh, can't believe this is happening again... some poor soul's life was literally just saved and now we're dealing with this drama? Fire department not being helpful is so frustrating! I mean, what if they were needed somewhere else right now?! This whole investigation thing is just a huge headache for the police already, no need to make it worse by dealing with uncooperative firefighters. And 11:35 pm on a Sunday night... when people are trying to relax and unwind? It's just awful. I do hope whoever did this gets caught, but at least nobody was hurt... that's all anyone can really ask for in this situation ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ฌ

just saw this news about the fire in chatham and i'm still trying to wrap my head around it ๐Ÿคฏ like what's the point of having a fire department if they're not gonna cooperate with the cops? ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ˜’ i mean, no one was hurt which is good, but it's just frustrating that there's already a suspect in the arson investigation... and now this fire department guy is being super unhelpful? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ i guess that's what happens when you're not getting paid enough to care about public safety or something ๐Ÿ˜’

๐Ÿค” so this is crazy... like a fire just breaks out in someone's apartment building without any warning or anything. you'd think that would be a major red flag for authorities to investigate right away. but no, they're saying it might've been arson which is bad enough, but not knowing the cause of the fire from the fire department? that's not good. i mean, i'm glad nobody was hurt but what if someone had been in there and got trapped or something? ๐Ÿš’

i wonder why the fire department is being so uncooperative with the police. are they trying to cover something up? or is it just a big mess because of all the conflicting information they're getting from different sources? i hope they get to the bottom of this soon, for everyone's safety. we need to know what happened here and if there's anything we can do to prevent it from happening again ๐Ÿšซ

Ugh, another fire in Chicago! ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ˜ฌ I mean, can't people just be more careful with candles or something? Like, it's not that hard to prevent fires from happening in the first place. And now we're having to deal with a suspicious fire and all that drama. The police are trying to figure out if it was arson, which is definitely a concern. I hope they get to the bottom of it soon. But what really gets me is that fire department spokesperson is being super unhelpful. Like, can't they just give us some basic info on what happened? It's frustrating when officials don't cooperate with each other. And now we're left in the dark, literally! The fact that no one was hurt is good news, but still... ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

ugh thats so worrying... i mean can u imagine waking up to find ur apartment on fire?? its like a nightmare come true ๐Ÿคฏ luckily everyone got out safely tho which is literally the best news ever

i'm also kinda curious about what's going on with that fire dept spokesperson they seem kinda shady rn dont know if im just watching too much tv but it sounds like they're not being super helpful to the investigation ๐Ÿ‘€

anyway idk what's going on in chicago right now but i do hope whoever was affected by this fire gets some support and help getting back on their feet ๐Ÿคž

๐Ÿค• so sad that some ppl would wanna set fire in an empty building, hope nobody had any valuables in there that got damaged... dont no why the fire dept is being stubborn tho ๐Ÿค”, u think they might be tryin 2 cover somethin? anyway glad no one was hurt or forced outta their homes ๐Ÿ’•. it's crazy how fires can just pop up outta nowhere like dat. gotta hope whoever did this gets caught and faces the consequences โš ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ
