‘Take Off’ Director Pengfei on Tokyo Competition Entry: ‘A Fable-Like Story, With a Touch of Fairy Tale’

just watched "Take Off" and i gotta say, pengfei's really pushing himself as an artist 🤯. the cinematography is insane, those handheld shots are so visceral it feels like you're right there with li mingqi. and jiang qiming is perfect for the lead role, his detached vibe just works 🎥. but what i think i love most about this film is how it balances hope and realism, i mean, it's not all sunshine and rainbows, it gets real dark in some parts 😔. still, it's a beautiful story about chasing your dreams and holding on to who you are, even when the world around you is changing ⏳️.

I gotta say, I'm super overhyped for "Take Off". Like, it sounds soooo sentimental and cheesy to me 🤣. I mean, who needs emotional depth when you can just have a hot air balloon and a dance hall? Sounds like a total snooze fest to me 😴. And don't even get me started on the whole " persistence" thing... isn't that just code for "I'm gonna keep doing this boring stuff until I die"? Not my cup of tea, fam 👎

I love how the director put his heart and soul into this film 🌟 it really shows in the way he incorporated personal details and anecdotes from his own life to bring the story to life 💭 The casting was genius, especially Jiang Qiming who brought such depth and nuance to his character 💪 And that score? Absolutely stunning 🎵 It's not just a movie about flight, it's about the human spirit and the power of pursuing our dreams, no matter what 🌠

just watched take off and i'm still reeling from it 🤯 pengfei's direction is so layered and nuanced, it's like he's got this entire emotional spectrum charted out 📊 the way he balances realism and poeticism is pure magic ✨ Jiang qiming's performance as li mingqi is stunning - i love how he brings this quiet intensity to the role 💥 and can we talk about lv songye's cinematography? it's like you're right there with the characters, breathing in that dusty northeast china air 🌫️ pengfei's commitment to authenticity is something i really admire - every aspect of the production feels so meticulously crafted 💯

looks like pengfei's been working hard to capture the essence of his characters 😊. i think it's awesome how he incorporates realism in every aspect, from casting to cinematography 🎥. and that score by suzuki keiichi is perfection 🎵. what really gets me is how pengfei balances the emotional depth with this sense of 'letting go' – it feels so... human ❤️. can't wait to see where his collaborations take him next

Pengfei's latest film "Take Off" is so inspiring 🌟. I love how it combines emotional themes with a deeper layer about dreams and human connection. The way he incorporates elements of his previous films while bringing new depth to the story is really cool 👏. The cast, especially Jiang Qiming and Jiang Wu, is amazing 🤩. And can we talk about that cinematography? Handheld cameras adding to the emotional intensity is pure magic ✨. Pengfei's dedication to authenticity shines through in every aspect of production. I'm so excited for his future collaborations with Shuang Xuetao! The way he's telling the story of Northeast China's working-class feels like a beautiful tribute 🙏. Give it up for this talented director and his incredible team 💥
