Taliban accuses Pakistan of killing 10 – including nine children – in strikes on Afghanistan

Pakistani Forces Accused of Killing 10 Innocents, Including Nine Children in Air Strikes on Afghan Border

A day after a deadly suicide attack on a security compound in Pakistan's Peshawar city, Taliban officials have accused the Pakistani military of carrying out a barrage of air strikes that killed at least 10 people, including nine children. The victims were reportedly targeted in an airstrike in Khost province, with reports suggesting the attacks may have been aimed at a local resident's home.

According to Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesperson on X, the raids resulted in the deaths of nine children, five boys and four girls, as well as one woman. Four civilians were also wounded in additional air strikes targeting the Kunar and Paktika border regions.

The Pakistani government has thus far refused to comment on the allegations, despite the increasing tensions between the two countries. The strikes come after a suicide attack at the headquarters of Pakistan's Federal Constabulary force in Peshawar, which killed three officers and wounded 11 others. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Pakistan President Asif Zardari linked the bombing to "foreign-backed" militants operating from Afghan soil, referring to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The TTP is a militant group that Islamabad accuses of receiving support from Kabul.

In recent months, relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have continued to deteriorate. Deadly border clashes in October killed around 70 people on both sides, prompting talks in Istanbul but ultimately failing to yield a lasting peace agreement. Islamabad blames the Taliban for sheltering the TTP fighters, who Islamabad claims are behind a surge in attacks against its territory.

The Afghan government denies these allegations and accuses Pakistan of harbouring groups hostile to Afghanistan and disregarding its sovereignty. The situation remains volatile, with multiple sides blaming each other for the escalating tensions and deadly violence.

I'm really worried about what's going on between Pakistan and Afghanistan 🤕. It seems like both countries are pointing fingers at each other and it's hard to see a way out of this mess. The fact that innocent civilians, especially kids, got caught in the crossfire is just heartbreaking 😔. I wish they could put aside their differences and have a serious talk about how to resolve their issues. But with all the blame-shifting and accusations flying around, it's hard to see any progress 🤷‍♂️. And what really gets me is that the international community is not doing enough to help mediate this situation. I mean, can't we all just try to be more understanding and peaceful for once? 🙏

🤔 This whole thing is just another example of how our borders are a mess 🤦‍♂️. I mean, both Pakistan and Afghanistan can't seem to agree on anything, it's like they're speaking different languages 🗣️. And the civilians in between get caught in the crossfire 💀. It makes me wonder if we'll ever see a lasting peace agreement in this region 🔒. I think the Pakistani government is being played by Islamabad 😒, and it's the same with Kabul 🤝. We need to focus on supporting these countries' sovereignty and security rather than just blaming each other for everything 🙅‍♂️. And what about the real culprits – the militants operating from Afghan soil? Shouldn't we be targeting them instead of getting caught up in this back-and-forth between Pakistan and Afghanistan? 🤷‍♂️ It's time to get real about national security here 💥!

This is so heartbreaking 🤕... 10 innocent lives lost, including 9 kids! 😢 How could this happen? I mean, we know there's been a lot of tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan lately, but it seems like things are just getting out of control. I'm really worried about the civilians caught in the middle 🤯. It's like no one is listening to each other or trying to find a peaceful solution. Can't they see that violence only leads to more suffering? 😩 The Pakistani government needs to respond to these allegations and provide some answers, but at the same time, the Afghan government should also be willing to listen and work together to find a way forward 🤝. This conflict is just exhausting 💔.

🤕 My heart goes out to those innocent kids who lost their lives in that airstrike 🌎. It's just devastating to think about families torn apart like this. I've seen some crazy stuff over the years, but this one takes the cake. It's hard to fathom how many times we have to go through this - Pakistan and Afghanistan at each other's throats, with civilians caught in the middle 💔.

I'm not sure what's going on behind closed doors, but it's clear that both sides are dug in and refusing to listen 🗣️. It's like they're playing a game of chicken, except instead of cars, lives are at stake 🚗💀. We need some leaders who can put the pedal down and find a way out of this cycle of violence ⏱️.

It's funny how we talk about 'regional stability' and 'security', but when it comes down to it, human life is what really matters ❤️. We should be focusing on finding ways to bring our neighbors together, not pitting them against each other 💪.

🚨💥 This is getting really messy... I drew a quick map to try and visualize what's going on 🗺️

My thought: We need to find a way to stop this cycle of violence and blame 🤦‍♂️. Both sides have valid concerns, but we can't just keep accusing each other without trying to understand each other's perspectives 🗣️. Can we talk? 💬

🤕 This airstrike is like, totally unacceptable... I mean, 9 kids die? Innocent lives lost because of the instability in that region. It's like Pakistan is playing a game of "let them shoot first" 🎯. The Pakistani government is all quiet on this, but that just makes it worse. They're not even denying it or taking responsibility. It's like they're saying "it wasn't us" 🙅‍♂️.

And then you got the Afghan side accusing each other... it's like a never-ending cycle of blame. Pakistan is saying the Taliban is sheltering these militant groups, but the Taliban says they're being framed. Who do we believe? It's hard to say when both sides are just trying to deflect attention from their own failures.

The thing is, this airstrike doesn't just affect civilians, it affects the whole region's relations. It's like a powder keg waiting to blow. We need some real leadership here... or at least someone who's willing to listen and talk things through. This diplomatic silence is what's getting us nowhere 🗣️.

this is so sad 😔 another innocent lives lost in war 🤕 pakistan & afghanistan have been at odds for years now 🙄 it's like they're stuck in a loop of hate & violence 💥 why can't they just talk to each other instead? 🤷‍♀️ the children who died were probably just kids playing outside when the airstrike happened 😭 it's heartbreaking how many civilians are getting caught in the crossfire 💔

omg like 10 ppl killed incld 9 kids 😩😭 in airstrike on afghan border?? that's literally insane!! cant believe pak military would do somethin so horrific. i feel so bad 4 those innocent ppl n their fams 🤕. pakistan govt not even botherd to comment tho thats super shady. its all just a big mess with no one takin responsibility 🚫💔. can we jus find peace already?! 😩

omg like what is goin on over there 🤯 pakistan can't even get along with afghanistan & now they're killin innocent ppl? i'm literally in shock 10 kids dead? 😱 nine boys & four girls?! it's just not right this airstrike was supposed to be a suicide attack revenge or somethin but noooo they gotta go & kill civilians on purpose 🤯

i feel so bad for the families of these poor kids who lost their lives 🌹👫 i wish pakistan would just talk to afghanistan & figure out why all this violence is happenin we need peace not more death 💔 it's like, can't they see how much harm they're causin? 🤷‍♀️

🚨💔 this is getting outta hand... 9 kids just gone in a airstrike... what's wrong with these countries? can't even have a peaceful day without some airstrike or bombing going down... like, what's next? another innocent family wiped out... it's all so senseless 🤕 the US is trying to get more involved and mediate but I'm not holding my breath... they just keep getting pulled in deeper and deeper into this mess 💔

OMG, this is so sad 🤕... 10 innocent lives lost, including 9 kids 😩... can't even imagine what it's like to lose a loved one in such a way 💔. The fact that they were just trying to live their lives at home and suddenly get caught up in the crossfire is just heartbreaking ❤️. I think both sides should try to calm down and talk things out, all this back-and-forth is just fueling more violence 🔥... and what's with the lack of comment from Pakistan? 🤔 shouldn't they be addressing these allegations instead of avoiding them? 🙄

I think the Taliban's side of the story is way more believable than what the Pakistani government is saying 🤔. I mean, have you seen the numbers they're giving? 10 innocent civilians, including kids? That's gotta be a pretty big coincidence if it was really just a random airstrike gone wrong 💥. And what about all the times Pakistan has denied involvement in airstrikes and then suddenly they're denying Afghan soil is being used as a safe haven too? It sounds like they're playing both sides against each other 🤳♀️. We need to get some real evidence before we start believing one side over the other 💡.

I'm so tired of both sides bashing each other over this 😒. Like, come on, can't we just try to figure out what's really going on? I think it's time we stopped making assumptions about who's behind all these attacks and started focusing on finding a way to resolve our differences peacefully 🤝. The fact that nine children are dead is, like, totally heartbreaking and something we should be all freaking out about 💔, not using as an excuse for more conflict. And can we please stop playing the "foreign-backed militants" card? It's just so tired 😴. Let's try to have a real conversation about how we're going to work together to keep our people safe 🤞.
