Tell us: what is your Spotify Wrapped 'listening age'?

Spotify Wrapped, a yearly tradition that summarizes users' music listening habits, has taken an interesting turn this year.

The streaming giant's new tool calculates its subscribers' "listening ages" by comparing their behavior to that of other age groups. What does this mean for you? Is your musical taste evolving with the years, or have you remained loyal to a particular genre since college?

To understand how our listening habits change over time, let's take a step back and think about it. Think about the artists, bands, and genres that first captured your attention when you were younger. Were they the same ones you still listen to today? Have you discovered new sounds or rediscovered old favorites?

Spotify wants to know what kind of "listening age" you have – do you consider yourself a nostalgic music lover who sticks to the classics, or an adventurous music fan always on the lookout for something new? The streaming service is trying to understand how our tastes evolve and adapt as we grow older.

Now, Spotify has created a tool that calculates your listening age based on your music consumption habits over the past year. But what does it say about you if your listening age doesn't match your actual age? Are there any surprises or insights hidden in these numbers?

The next time you log into your Spotify account, take a look at your Wrapped and think about how your musical tastes have changed – or remained the same – over the years. Share with us what we can learn from your own "listening age" story.

😊 people's music taste does change over time but some stick to the classics for sure... like my grandma still loves ABBA 🎶 after all these years and I'm still listening to Billie Eilish 🤯, so i guess you never know what will stick or not... maybe its just about how your brain works as u get older? 🧠

I feel like I'm stuck in a rut 🤔. My listening habits have been pretty consistent for years - I still rock out to the same indie bands I loved back in college. Don't get me wrong, I've discovered some new artists and genres since then, but they're not on the same level as my all-time faves 😊. It's like I'm a bit of a musical fossil, still listening to the same old stuff 🎸. But hey, why fix what ain't broke, right? 🤷‍♂️

🤔 I mean, think about it... our music taste is like, super personal, right? It's not just about liking certain artists or genres, it's also about memories and emotions attached to the songs. For me, that's what Spotify Wrapped does best - it shows how my tastes have changed over time. Like, I used to love 90s rock all the time, but now I'm more into indie folk 🌿🎶. It's cool to see how my listening habits are evolving, even if it means saying goodbye to some old favorites 😔. The weird thing is when your listening age doesn't match your actual age... that's like, a fun mystery to solve! 🧐

omg u guys I just saw this on spotify wrapped and it's like so mind blowing! they actually created a tool to tell you if ur listening habits change as ur getting older lol... I'm 25 and my listening age is like 28? that means I've been stuck in the same vibe since college I love discovering new artists but sometimes it feels like I'm just re-watching old faves what's crazy tho is they want to know how our tastes evolve so we can figure out why 🤔💖

idk about this spotify wrapped thing... seems like they're tryin to make us feel old lol 🤣. i mean, who wants to see their listening habits compared to others of a certain age group? its just gonna give me anxiety thinkin bout how i've changed or not 🎶. but i guess its kinda cool that they wanna know what kind of music we're into at different stages of our lives... maybe it'll make me realize i've been stuck in a genre loop for too long 😂. personally, i think my taste has evolved, but not necessarily in the way i thought i would 🤷‍♂️. now that i log in, ill def check out my wrapped and see if its true... might even discover some new artists to add to my playlist 💡

🤔 So, if Spotify's algorithm is saying I'm 35 but my listening habits are more chill like a 50-year-old 🎶, does that mean I'm having a midlife crisis? 😂 But seriously, it got me thinking - how many of us are really sticking to our teenage playlists or rediscovering old school vibes? And what about the newbies on Spotify - do they even have a "listening age" yet? It's like, can you be young at heart but still have a playlist full of Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift? 🎵 I mean, isn't that what Spotify Wrapped is all about - giving us permission to evolve our tastes without judgment? 💡

I'm like 25 but my listening age is all over the place 🤯... I used to be super into indie rock and folk back in college, but now I'm vibing more with pop and hip-hop. My Spotify Wrapped shows that I've been exploring new genres like electronic and R&B, which is cool because it means I'm not stuck in my teenage years 😂. But at the same time, there are some artists from my early 20s who still get a ton of plays - it's like my taste hasn't changed that much after all 🎵... anyway, this whole listening age thing is kinda fascinating, and I'd love to see what other people's stories are 💡.

I'm loving this new feature on Spotify Wrapped! 🎉 I was surprised to see that my listening age is actually older than I am - it's like my musical taste has just gotten better with time, you know? 😊 It's crazy how some artists from when I was in college are still huge for me now, while others have faded into the background. But at the same time, I've also discovered some amazing new music and artists that I never would've found otherwise. I think it's really cool that Spotify is trying to understand how our tastes evolve over time. It makes you realize that your musical identity isn't just about one era or genre - it's a journey! 🌈

omg I'm so down for this new Spotify feature 🤩! It's like they're trying to figure out our musical identity, you know? I think it's pretty cool that they're analyzing how our tastes change over time. I've definitely noticed myself getting into different genres as I get older - in college, I was all about indie rock and now I'm loving some chill electronic vibes 🌊. It's interesting to see if my listening age reflects my actual age or if I'm still a total child at heart 🤣. Anyone else want to share their "listening age" story on Spotify?

🎵 I'm thinking, if my listening age is way older than I am... does that mean I've just been listening to more music overall? Like, have I been the type to stay home and binge-watch movies all day while my friends go out partying? 🤔 That's actually kinda interesting. Maybe it says something about how people get older and their priorities change. On one hand, it could be that we're just getting better at finding new music over time (I mean, have you seen some of the playlists on Spotify Wrapped lately?!). But on the other hand... I've always been pretty nostalgic for my childhood jams. Do I really sound like an old soul or is this just some fun fact to look back on? 🎶

I'm low-key shocked to see my listening age on Spotify is actually older than I thought lol 💭🎵, like I was expecting it to be younger since I've been binge-listening to Billie Eilish and Lizzo lately 🤯. But then I started thinking about how music has always been a big part of my life, from listening to My Chemical Romance in high school to now discovering K-pop groups with my friends 🎉. Maybe it just means I'm finally embracing adulthood and ditching that angsty teen phase 😂. On the other hand, seeing what kind of genres I've been listening to over the years is pretty interesting - I was surprised to see that my favorite artists from college are still on repeat in my playlists 📝.

😒 I'm not surprised they're trying to analyze our music taste like it's some kind of science experiment... Like, what even is a "listening age" anyway? Is it just gonna tell me that I've been listening to the same old crap for years because I'm too lazy to try new things? 🎵💔 And who thought it was a good idea to compare my music taste to others in different age groups? It's like they're trying to shame me if I don't fit into some kind of arbitrary genre or artist mold. But hey, I guess it'll be fun to see what "listening age" says about me... probably just confirms all the things I already know about myself: stuck in a rut and too old to try anything new 🤦‍♂️

🎧 I'm kinda surprised they're doing this. It's like they're asking if our musical identities are tied to our youthful selves or if we've mellowed out a bit 🤔. I mean, I still blast that same indie rock from college on repeat sometimes lol... but at the same time, I've got playlists full of newer tunes I've discovered recently. It's like my "listening age" is two different things: the one I want it to be and the one Spotify actually gives me 🎵. I'm curious to see what kind of trends come out of this... do people still love their old faves or are they all about discovering new stuff?

omg I'm so down for this 🤩 like every year Spotify Wrapped is like my fave tradition lol, but this new feature is actually super interesting... I think mine would be a mix of both tbh, I mean I've always loved 80s and 90s music but I've also been getting into more indie and alternative stuff lately, so maybe that's why my listening age says I'm still a nostalgic at heart? 🎶 But what I love about Spotify Wrapped is how it makes me realize how much I've grown as a person, like I used to only listen to Top 40 pop music but now I'm all about discovering new artists and genres... it's crazy how much our tastes change over time 💖

omg I just saw this on my Spotify Wrapped 🤯 it's kinda weird but also kinda cool that they're tracking our listening habits and trying to figure out how our tastes change over time 🎵👀 I mean, I'm a bit nostalgic for the old-school hip hop music from when I was in college, but at the same time I've been getting into so many new genres like emo and indie rock lately 😂 it's funny how my listening age says I'm still a "noughties kid" 🤦‍♀️ despite being in my mid-twenties now lol what about you guys? did your listening age surprise you?

🎵 I think its kinda cool they're tryin to figure out how our tastes change as we get older, but its also a bit weird that they're trying to reduce it to just one number 🤔... like what about all the times you discover new music cuz of a friend or on a random playlist? Don't those count for anything? 🤷‍♀️ I mean, my listening age is basically 25, but if i look back at my Wrappeds from when i was 19, id say that one was way more accurate lolol

omg i'm lowkey surprised by this new feature 🤯...i mean, it's kinda cool that spotify's trying to understand how our tastes evolve over time...but at the same time, i feel like they're kinda invading my personal space with all these 'listening age' calculations 😳...i guess it's interesting to see what kind of music i still listen to after all these years...like, do i really stick to my old college jams or have i branched out into new stuff? 🎵💭

I'm low-key obsessed with this Spotify thing, but this "listening age" tool is like, really deep 🤯. I mean, think about it - have you ever noticed how some artists just get better with time? Like, I was totally into that one band in college, and they've still been producing sick tracks to this day 🔥. But then there are the ones who just kinda... disappear 🙅‍♂️.

It's funny, because my listening age is actually younger than me 😂 - all these young artists and genres that I didn't know existed before but now can't get enough of! And on the other hand, some old school classics are still where it's at for me 💯. What does this say about us? Are we just getting wiser (or more nostalgic) with age? 🤔
