A surge in reboots has fans asking: can their favourite shows be revived? The recent announcements of Line of Duty and Doctor Foster returning to our screens have sparked debate about which programmes should be brought back.

While some are clamouring for the return of iconic classics, others want to see lesser-known gems given a second chance. A new series of Endeavour could satisfy fans of Inspector Morse, while a revival of Midsomer Murders would likely delight those who grew up with the quirky detective's antics.

However, not everyone is convinced that reviving old shows is the best idea. With so many excellent programmes currently on the air, some argue that bringing back outdated series would be a waste of valuable time and resources. Others believe that new stories need to be told, rather than relying on familiar formulas.

I'm all about reviving classic shows, tbh 🙌🏼 - there's something so nostalgic and comfy about watching old faves again. I mean, who wouldn't want to see more of Ross Pittman's Line of Duty antics or Tom Barnes' witty banter in Doctor Foster? 🤣 But at the same time, I get where people are coming from - with all these new amazing shows out there, it feels like a waste if we're bringing back outdated series. It's like, can't they just make something entirely new instead of relying on old formulas? 🤔 Still, for me, it's all about the nostalgia factor... bring on that Endeavour revival! 👍
 
🤔 i mean, can we really justify bringing back old shows just because they were popular before? isn't there something more we could be doing with our time and money? like creating new content that actually tackles pressing issues? i'm not saying i don't want to see some of these shows come back, but let's not forget what's currently on the air and the impact it can have. 📺💡

I'm both excited and skeptical about reviving old shows 🤔. On one hand, I think it's awesome that our fave classic shows are getting a comeback – it's always dope to revisit old favorites. But at the same time, I don't wanna see any original ideas being stifled just because we love what worked in the past 😒. I mean, new shows come out all the time and they're still managing to be awesome, so why can't some old ones get a shot too? 🤷‍♀️ And let's be real, with how many amazing shows are currently on TV, it feels like we don't have enough room for new stuff to breathe 😩. omg i'm so hyped about potential revivals lol i think we need more inspector morse vibes on tv btw some shows just get better with age, like midsomer murders is still so quirky and fun 🤣 what's your fave show that you'd love to see revived? personally i think line of duty has a good shot at coming back it was so addictive 📺
 
📺 I'm so down for some of these revivals lol 😂, like who wouldn't want to see Inspector Morse again? The original series was so engaging and atmospheric. 🌑️ A new Endeavour series could totally work if they do it justice 👍.

But you're right, not everyone will be on board with bringing back old shows 🤔. I mean, there are some amazing new programmes out right now that deserve some love too 💥. Maybe we don't need to revive every classic show? 🤷‍♀️

I think what matters most is that the writers and producers put thought into it, not just bring back a familiar formula 📝. A good revival needs to be fresh and exciting, even if it's with characters or settings we already know 😊.

I think this is all about nostalgia 😊. We tend to romanticize the past and forget that things were good for a reason. The shows we loved aren't coming back because they're still relevant, but because we miss the familiarity of our childhoods. It's like holding onto a warm blanket - it feels comfy, but it's not serving us any new purpose. Maybe instead of reviving old shows, we should be supporting new ones that can bring fresh perspectives and stories to the table? 💡
 
OMG 🤩 I'm so stoked about all these reboots!!! I mean, who doesn't love a good revival?! 😆 It's like getting a second chance to revisit old faves or experiencing new ones with fresh eyes. tbh i think its all good 🤔 if they wanna revive shows that still got some decent storylines left then why not?! but like kinda dont wanna see old shows just because they were popular 10 yrs ago lol sometimes new ideas are better than rehashing what already worked. plus with so many new platforms and streaming services now we can actually watch a lot more content in total, so why settle for less?
 
I THINK IT'S AWESOME THAT OLD FAVE SHOWS ARE GETTING A REVIVAL!!! I MEAN, WHO DOESN'T LOVE SEEING THEIR PRECIOUS MEMORIES COME BACK ON SCREEN??? Line of Duty and Doctor Foster are such good choices, but I also think it would be SO COOL to see a new Endeavour series! Inspector Morse is still such a legend 🚔💡 And Midsomer Murders is just so funny and quirky 😂👻 As for the haters saying it's a waste of time and resources... I say, WHY NOT GIVE IT A GO? It's not like they're going to make it worse, right? 😉 It's all about satisfying our cravings, am I RIGHT?! 🤩
 
I'm so done with reboots already! 🙄 Can't we just let some shows chill and not bother reviving them just because they're old faves? I mean, think about it, if every old show got a reboot, we'd never get to watch anything new. It's like, our brains are already full of outdated formulas and characters from last decade - no more! I FEEL LIKE WE'RE LIVING IN A GOLDEN AGE OF TELEVISION RIGHT NOW!!! THERE ARE SO MANY AMAZING SHOWS OUT THERE AND I'M EXCITED TO SEE WHICH ONES WILL BE REVIVED NEXT. AND LET'S BE REAL, WITH SO MANY GREAT SHOWS CURRENTLY ON THE AIR, I'M NOT SURE IF REVIVING OLD SERIES ISN'T JUST A WAY FOR PRODUCERS TO GET AWAY FROM CREATING NEW STUFF. I'm so excited about this topic 🤩. I think reviving old shows is a great idea if they're still good enough to hold up today 👍. Like, who wouldn't want to see more of Endeavour or Midsomer Murders? But at the same time, it's also super tempting to try out new and fresh stories that we haven't seen before 🤔. I mean, our tastes change over time and what was awesome 10 years ago might not be as appealing now 😊. Maybe the key is finding a balance between bringing back classics and introducing new ones? What do you think? 🤗
 
📺💡 I'm all for reviving old shows especially if they're classics like Line of Duty & Doctor Foster 🙌. It's always fun to revisit old favourites and see how characters evolve 👥. But, at the same time, I think we need to make space for new stories too 🌟. Can't wait to see what other shows get revived in 2025 🔜!
 
I think reviving old shows can be a good idea, but only if they've got some new twists to keep things fresh. I mean, Line of Duty and Doctor Foster are both classics for a reason, so it's cool that we're seeing them come back. But at the same time, it feels like a lot of old shows are getting revived and not enough new ones are being made. 🤔

I'd love to see more reboots of lesser-known gems though - there are some great shows out there that never got the chance to shine. Like, have you seen 'The IT Crowd'? That show was hilarious and underrated. A revival would be amazing! 😂
 
I think its awesome they're giving old shows another go 🤔. I mean, who doesn't love revisiting old faves and seeing how characters evolve over time? Its like getting a big ol' hug from an old friend 😊. Plus, new creators can bring fresh perspectives to classic storylines, so we might see some unexpected twists and turns! I'm totally down for a revival of Inspector Morse - that guy was always so mysterious and intriguing 🕵️‍♂️. Don't @ me when I say I want more Endeavour...
