The 10 most anticipated video games of 2026

2026 is shaping up to be a thrilling year for gamers, with several highly anticipated titles on the horizon. For those who love climbing and mountaineering, Cairn promises to deliver an immersive experience that simulates real-life climbing. Players must carefully place their character's hands and feet on various ledges and bandage her fingers as she ascends the mountain.

On the other hand, Reanimal is a two-player animated horror game that pays homage to Tim Burton's dark and twisted aesthetic. In this game, players take on the roles of a brother and sister who must navigate their haunted hometown while avoiding monstrous creatures. The game promises to be both terrifying and artistically impressive.

For fans of Resident Evil, Capcom has released a new installment in its popular horror series. Resident Evil Requiem stars bookish protagonist Grace and confident cop Leon S Kennedy as they battle monsters through iconic Raccoon City streets. The game promises to deliver intense combat and thrilling action sequences.

Another highly anticipated title is Pokémon Pokopia, which drops beloved Pokémon into the world of Animal Crossing with a touch of Minecraft's blocky aesthetic. Players can build habitats for their favorite creatures and engage in family-friendly gameplay.

A more mature experience awaits fans of James Bond with 007 First Light, an IO Interactive game that promises to deliver car chases, shootouts, and gadgets alongside genuine spycraft.

Saros, a mysterious action game from the Finnish developer behind Returnal, pits another stranded astronaut against hostile alien creatures on a dying planet. The game's bullet-hell shooter elements are sure to appeal to long-time gamers.

Grand Theft Auto VI has been in development for over a decade and is expected to deliver more crime and love stories than ever before. The game features its first female protagonist and promises to satirize contemporary America with its writers' keen wit.

Fans of Wolverine will be thrilled to see the modern Spider-Man games' developer, Insomniac, tackle another Marvel hero in Marvel's Wolverine. The game promises an ensemble cast of X-Men characters, thrilling action sequences, and a whole lot of comic-book violence.

Lastly, for those looking for something more lighthearted, Witchbrook is a charming pixel-art slice-of-life game about witches' college that allows up to four players to engage in spells, broom flight, and whimsical town life outside school.

🌟 I'm super hyped for 2026 gaming releases! Cairn's climbing sim looks so immersive, can't wait to put myself in the shoes (literally 😂) of a climber. Reanimal's horror vibes are calling my name, too - spooky atmosphere is just what I need right now. Resident Evil fans, you're gonna love RE Requiem... intense action sequences, yeah! Pokémon Pokopia's blocky aesthetic sounds so cute & fun, like a kid-friendly Minecraft 🌈. And who wouldn't want to play as James Bond in 007 First Light? Saros sounds super intense, just what I need for a thrill ride. Can't wait to dive into Grand Theft Auto VI - love how it tackles real issues. Wolverine fans, Insomniac's got this... can't wait for more X-Men shenanigans! Witchbrook's pixel art charm has me sold, a game that sounds like a cozy night in sounds perfect 🍵.

I'm super stoked for 2026 gaming year 😆 it's like, the more I think about all these upcoming titles, the more I wanna play them ASAP! Cairn is gonna be so intense for climbing fans, and Reanimal looks like a total scream fest 🤣 Resident Evil Requiem better bring the heat if it's gonna live up to the series. And Pokémon Pokopia? That sounds like so much fun, who wouldn't wanna build habitats for their fave Pokémon in Animal Crossing style 🐾💚 But what really gets me is 007 First Light, I mean, genuine spycraft and gadgets? That's some top-notch gaming right there 🔫🕵️‍♂️

OMG u gotta be super excited 4 these new games!! 🤯 Like Reanimal is gonna give me the chills 😱 & Pokémon Pokopia sounds like a dream come true for any Pokémon fan 🐠🌿 & then theres Marvel's Wolverine which is gonna bring the noise 💥😎 but im really curious about Cairn too - climbing in a game? that sounds like an amazing rush 🏔️💪

I'm gonna say the opposite, okay? 🙅‍♂️ So, none of these games sound super exciting to me. I mean, Cairn is just a climbing game, how repetitive can that be? And Reanimal's horror vibe sounds too intense for my taste. Resident Evil Requiem is just more of the same old Resident Evil formula, no thanks.

Pokopia's Pokémon + Animal Crossing + Minecraft mashup doesn't sound very original to me... and 007 First Light just seems like another generic spy game. Saros's bullet-hell shooter stuff might be cool for some people, but not me, I'm good. Grand Theft Auto VI is just gonna be too busy and shallow with all that satire and love stories.

Marvel's Wolverine game sounds like it'll be a generic action RPG, and Witchbrook's lighthearted vibe just seems too... wholesome for my taste? 🙄 Where's the challenge in playing as witches' college students? I'm good on the gaming front this year, thanks.

🤔 I'm not convinced by the whole Pokémon Pokopia thing 🐰. It sounds like they're just rehashing Animal Crossing with some Minecraft blocks thrown in for good measure. Where's the innovation? And what's up with building habitats for Pokémon in this game? Wouldn't it be more fun to just catch and collect them instead of, you know, taking care of them? 🐰😒

I'm so stoked for 2026! 🤩 It's like the gaming world is finally getting back on track after a few slow years. But honestly, I think we're gonna see some wild stuff this year. Capcom really outdid themselves with Resident Evil Requiem - I mean, Leon and Grace teaming up to kick monster butt through Raccoon City? That sounds like my cup of tea! And Pokémon Pokopia is just too cute for words, right? Who wouldn't want to build habitats for their favorite Pokémon in Animal Crossing-style? 🐠🏠 But what really gets me excited is the new Marvel game. Wolverine's gonna be so much fun - Insomniac always knocks it out of the park with their superhero games. And I'm low-key hyped for 007 First Light too... who doesn't love a good James Bond adventure? 🕵️‍♂️ The thing that really gets me though is how these games are all pushing the boundaries in different ways. Cairn's got its realistic climbing mechanics, Reanimal's dark atmosphere, and Saros' bullet-hell shooter elements... it's like they're all trying to outdo each other in a game of "who can be the most exciting".

I'm so freaking stoked for the new year! 🤩 I just pre-ordered every single one of these games 📦🎮 I've been counting down the days until Resident Evil Requiem drops, I need more Leon S Kennedy in my life 😂 and those Pokémon in Animal Crossing is literally going to give me life 🐰💖. And can we talk about Marvel's Wolverine, I'm a huge fan of Logan and I need this game ASAP 💥 I've been meaning to get into the world of gaming for ages but now I'm really making up my mind 💡 and I might even convince my friends to play with me 🤝 who knows, maybe 2026 is going to be my year of gaming obsession 🤯
