The Ashes: James Anderson says Australia are favourites despite "weakest" team in 15 years

England's chances of regaining the Ashes are slipping away, with James Anderson now believing that Australia is likely to retain the series.

Anderson said that the current Australian team is their "weakest" in 15 years. The English bowler and his former teammate Stuart Broad agree that England has a significantly weaker side this time around. However, even with their weakened lineup, they still have a good bowling attack.

There are question marks over certain members of Australia's batting line-up, making it difficult to predict how the team will perform. Anderson stated that there is "quality" in their batting and bowling despite the injury to Pat Cummins and other concerns.

I don’t usually comment but I think this Ashes series is gonna be super interesting 🤔... England's got a tough road ahead of 'em, especially with their bowling attack being one of the strongest sides. But Australia's not exactly blowing anyone away either 😐... I mean, they've got some decent batsmen and a solid squad, but it's true that Pat Cummins' injury is a big blow.

I don’t know about Anderson saying his team is weaker than theirs though 🤷‍♂️... maybe he's just trying to psyche them out? And what with the Aussie batting line-up all over the shop, I think England might be more of a dark horse in this series ⚔️. Plus, their bowlers are always up for a challenge, so it's gonna be fun to watch 🏏... but yeah, Australia's still got my money on 'em 💸

Ugh 🙄 this is getting serious! I mean, England was always gonna be a tough nut to crack but now they're just not looking strong enough. 15 years without a win? What's going on?! 😩 Broad is right too, their team does look weaker and I don't think they can rely on the bowlers alone this time around. But you know what really gets me? The Aussies are actually saying that about themselves! 🤯 Like, who needs that kind of negativity in sports? Can't just say 'we're gonna win' without having a clue? 😒

man australia's got this series in the bag 🤦‍♂️ i mean dont get me wrong england's got some fire bowlers but australian team right now looks super solid they're not gonna get blown away 4/5 times in a row its hard to keep winning when you lose your best player pat cummins what's their backup plan tho? and australia's batting line up is like "meh" atm james anderson thinks so too i dunno about you guys but i'm putting my money on aus

I think England's chances of regaining the Ashes are looking pretty bleak 🤕. I mean, they've got a weaker side this time around and Australia's current team is definitely their weakest in 15 years 🤔. But you know what? They still have a solid bowling attack that can give them a good chance to compete 🔙. And let's be real, Australia's batting line-up has some question marks over it - I mean, Pat Cummins is out and that's a big loss 🤕. So, while England might not win the series, they're still gonna put up a fight 😊. It'll be interesting to see how they match up against Australia! 👀

I think England is in big trouble now 😬. They've been playing catch-up for so long, I'm not sure they can get back on top. Australia's team this year just seems too strong, especially with that quality batting and bowling. I mean, James Anderson saying it's their weakest side in 15 years? That's a serious warning sign 🚨. And yeah, England's bowlers are still super skilled, but they need more than just talent to take down the Aussies 🙏. The fact that Stuart Broad is saying the same thing as Anderson... it's not looking good 😞. Maybe they can pull off an upset or two, but I think the Ashes series is slipping away from them now ⏰

I was just thinking about trying out this new recipe for fish and chips 🐟👍, you know the one with the crispy batter and all. I'm not even a huge cricket fan but watching some of the highlights from last year's series was actually pretty intense! 😱 I mean, James Anderson is like a legend on the pitch, no doubt about it! 👏 But anyway, back to this Ashes thing... I think what really matters is how well England can adapt to playing away from home. Those Aussie conditions can be tough, especially for bowlers 🌳👍

man... i was really hoping england could pull off this one 🤞 but now it seems like australia's got the upper hand 🙅‍♂️ james andrews saying they've got a weaker team is kinda harsh but at the same time makes sense, their squad doesn't look as solid as in previous years. still, aussies have some quality batsmen on paper - will it be enough to carry them through? i'm intrigued by pat cummins' injury - that's gotta be tough for the team and now it's even harder to predict how they'll do 🤔 one thing's for sure though, these series are always so closely matched... can't wait to see what happens next 👊

🤔 I feel like this is a great lesson in humility, ya know? We get so caught up in our own strengths and weaknesses, but sometimes we gotta acknowledge where we're at and be realistic about it 🙏. England's got a solid bowling attack, no doubt, but Australia's batting line-up might just be the wild card here 🃏. It's all about adapting to new circumstances and being prepared for anything that comes our way 💪. And let's not forget, even with their 'weakest' lineup, they're still a force to be reckoned with 😅. Sometimes it's okay to not have everything figured out, just roll with the punches and see what happens 💥.

Australia's chances of keeping the Ashes are looking pretty solid right now 🤔. I mean, they're not invincible or anything, but England's just not firing on all cylinders, you know? They've got a weak team this time around and Anderson is spot on about it 😂. I love how honest he's being - no sugarcoating there! The Aussies are looking solid despite some injury worries, but they're not going to go down without a fight 🎯.

I think England's biggest problem is that their batting lineup just can't seem to click 🔥. They need someone to step up and lead the charge, you know? Otherwise, it's gonna be tough for them to compete with the Aussies' bowling attack ⚾️. Still, I've got faith in the Poms - they'll give it a good go, even if things don't quite work out 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.

I'm getting some doubts about England's chances this Ashes series 🤔... I mean, James Anderson is usually a pretty reliable source, but he's saying Australia is gonna retain it? That's quite a statement. And Broad agrees with him, yeah that doesn't sound good for the Three Lions.

But you know what's weird? Even though England's side is weaker, they still got some top-notch bowlers like Anderson and his mate Mark Wood 🤩. I'm not saying it's gonna be easy to win, but I think they've got a shot if they can string together a few good performances.

And Australia's batting lineup is all over the place... Pat Cummins was injured and now they're missing another key player? That's gotta hurt. And don't even get me started on their bowling - Anderson said there's quality in it, I'm with him on that one 😊. Can't see how they won't struggle at times. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens 📺

I'm loving this Ashes series so far 🏏! But seriously, England's chances of taking back the series are looking pretty grim ⚠️. I mean, James Anderson saying that Australia is likely to retain it? That's gotta be tough for the English team 😬. And yeah, Stuart Broad agreeing with him too... it sounds like they're being real about their weaknesses 🤔.

But you know what? I still think England's got a solid bowling attack 🔥! They might not have the strongest lineup this time around, but that doesn't mean they can't give Australia a run for their money 💪. And those Aussies with injuries and uncertainty in their batting line-up? That's just giving England an opening to make a comeback 🔄.

It's gonna be super interesting to see how this series unfolds! Will the English team manage to pull off a surprise win, or will Australia retain the Ashes? Only time (and some great cricket) will tell ⏰.

🤔 I think England's chances of beating Australia in the Ashes are looking pretty slim right now... 🚨 And it's not just the quality of their team, but also the fact that they're up against an Aussie side that's actually been strengthened by injuries to their top players 🏥. I mean, if Pat Cummins is out, you'd expect Australia to lose some momentum, but instead, they seem to be adapting and finding a way to win without him 🎯. And let's not forget James Anderson's comments - he's got a lot of experience under his belt, so it sounds like he really thinks England are in trouble 😬. Of course, I still think there's hope for them, but it's hard to see them turning the series around now... 🤷‍♂️

oh man, i'm loving this aussie vs england rivalry 🙌! but seriously, james andrews saying australia's got a weaker side now? i think he's being a bit harsh 😂. they still have some serious talent like steve smith and david warner. plus, their bowlers are looking pretty fierce too 🔥.

i do agree with him though that england's lineup is lacking some big names 🤔. stuart broad makes a good point about them having a weaker side this time around. but you never know, england's got some young guns who can step up and make some waves ⚡️. i'm still gonna put my money on australia winning the series though 😄. they've just got too much quality for me 👍

omg i think england has a good chnce 2 cme back on top 🤔! i mean james anderson is like, their best bowler & he thinks australia might lose 😅 its true tho, austria does have a weaker side this yr. but their bowling attack is still fire 🔥! i dont think england needs 2 change much, just get pat cummins back on track 🤞 & they shud b golden 🏆

OMG, I'm getting the feels that England's chances of winning the Ashes are slippin away like sand between their fingers! 🌀😱 With James Anderson thinkin' Australia is gonna take it home, it's gettin real. 15 years with a strong side? That's crazy talk! 😲 They gotta be worried about their batting lineup, esp with Pat Cummins out injured 🤕. Don't get me wrong, England's got a solid bowling attack, but I just don't see 'em closin in on that series win 💔🏆

I feel like England's chances of winning the Ashes were already slim 🤔. I mean, Australia has been looking pretty solid lately, especially with that new generation of bowlers coming up through the ranks 💪. But at the same time, you can't deny that England's squad is a bit depleted this year... I remember when Broad and Anderson were still playing regularly for England, they had one of the best bowling attacks in the world 🌟. Now it's like they're just patching together a team with different players here and there... does anyone really know what their strategy is? 🤷‍♂️ And what about the Aussies' batting line-up - I think everyone's expecting them to struggle, but you never know what can happen when you've got quality players like Warner and Labuschagne on your team 🔥. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out...

🤔 I think England's chances of winning the Ashes are looking pretty slim right now 📉. I mean, they've got a decent bowler like Anderson but their batsmen just can't seem to get going ⚾️. Australia's team is definitely not as strong as it was 15 years ago 🤦‍♂️, so England should be able to give them a run for their money... right? 😅 https://www ESPN .com/ cricinfo / news / 34241932/en-gb/cricket-england-australia-ashes-2023-24

man, i'm not buying it 😒... england's got some decent bowlers but their batting's still a mess 🤯... they're relying too much on joe root and ben stokes, can't even trust will bourn 🤔... australia's got some quality batsmen, sure, but pat cummins' absence is huge 🚨... if england can get that bowling attack going, maybe they've got a chance 💪... but i'm still rooting for the aussies, gotta love their chances of retaining those ashes 🔴

ummmm i feel like england's chances r slipping away rn i mean james anderson said australia is prob gonna retain the ashes which is a bummer for us lol but on the bright side at least we have that sick bowling attack still 🤩 i dont think its just about having a strong team tho, its also about teamwork & strategy etc... australia might be struggling with their batting line-up but they still got quality players like steven smith and david warner 💪 so yeah, its gonna be an interesting series to watch
