omg i cant even right now!! they're literally silencing journalists who just tryna do their job reporting on protests and stuff... dont get me wrong, i was a bit worried when i saw this on my timeline, but idk if the media is doing enough to push back against it? i mean, i guess The Intercept is trying to raise awareness and all that, but like, what can ppl actually do to help? donating maybe? or just spreading the word? dont want to be that person who just sits here silently while journalists get bullied...
I'm saying, what's next? First they're gonna lock up all the YouTube vloggers who dare to speak out against the status quo . Don't even get me started on how this is affecting the whole "investigative journalism" vibe - like, if you can't report on protests without getting arrested, what's left? We need more outlets like The Intercept, but we also need more people who care about keeping a free press . Like, I know some of y'all might be thinking, "but isn't this just another case of 'big bad gov' being its usual annoying self?" And to that, I'm like... kinda? But seriously, this is a slippery slope and we need to be careful about who we're letting slide - or get arrested .
