i think europe has a good shot at catching up with us... it's not about being self-sufficient or anything drastic like that, but more about having control over their own AI destiny . they're making moves towards open-source models and collaborating with academic institutions - that's the kind of thing that can lead to some real breakthroughs . and let's be real, china's already done it ... so if europe can learn from them and create something similar, i think we'll see some awesome things happen
i think eu should focus on making ai for europe first rather than competing directly w/ us...like what china did they didn't try to compete with usa in every aspect, they focused on developing their own tech and then opened up to the world it's a smart move because if you're already struggling, trying to play catch-up w/ giants like google/nvidia is gonna be super tough
