The Struggle for the Future of the New York Democratic Party

🤔 I'm not sure how much weight to give to Jim Walden's endorsement of Andrew Cuomo... I mean, Cuomo's got some major baggage from his time as governor 🚫. But what really stood out to me was the way Mamdani was dismissed by Walden - like, experience isn't everything 💸. It feels like a pretty shallow reason to trust one candidate over another. And what about all the other factors that come into play in this election... like the economy and education? 📊 We need more discussion on those topics! 👀

I'm soooo not surprised to hear a former candidate for mayor endorsing another politician because "he has experience"... like that's going to make or break the city 🤣. It's all about lining up those campaign checks, am I right? 😂 The Intercept Briefing podcast is supposed to be in-depth, but it sounds like just another excuse for old-school politicking. Give me some real analysis and less hand-wringing about Cuomo's "challenges"... what a buzzword 🙄. And what's up with the snobbishness towards Zohran Mamdani? Can't we have a nuanced discussion without demonizing someone who doesn't fit the traditional mold? 🤷‍♀️

😒 I don't think it's a good idea to just stick with experience in governance. Like, what if someone with experience is also super corrupt or out of touch with the people? We need some fresh perspectives in politics too 💼. And honestly, Andrew Cuomo's track record isn't that great... he got caught up in those whole NY nursing home scandal thingies and stuff 🤦‍♂️. I mean, what makes him think he can fix the city's problems just because he has experience? Zohran Mamdani might not have it on paper, but maybe he'd bring a new vibe to the table that Cuomo just doesn't have 💡. The Intercept Briefing podcast is always good for some thought-provoking convo tho 📻.

I'm thinking what's really interesting about this conversation is how experience in governance comes into play... I mean, we all know Cuomo's got a ton of it, but can't Mamdani bring something new to the table? 🤔 It feels like Walden's just giving Cuomo a free pass because of his past experience without really critiquing what those policies have actually accomplished. And what about Mamdani's vision for the city - does that even count for anything in this discussion? 🚫 At the end of the day, it's all about making tough decisions and finding a balance between growth and equality... but can we really trust Cuomo to do that? 💸
