The U.S. Desperately Wants Back in the Business of Empire With Venezuela

I gotta say, I'm all for regime change if it means people are gonna be treated fairly, but come on, Trump's move in Venezuela was super sloppy 🤦‍♂️. I mean, we've got a history of backing shady governments in Latin America and now we're over here trying to play the hero? It doesn't add up.

And let's talk about international law - that US operation was straight-up violating it 😒. We can't just go around invading other countries like they're colonies or something. It's not how democracy works, folks.

I'm all for holding our government accountable, but we need to be careful not to jump on the bandwagon and start trashing Trump without thinking about the bigger picture 🤔. What does this say about US foreign policy? Are we just a global bully now?

It's also interesting that 72% of Americans are against this move - I guess that's what they mean by 'divided government' 😂.

🤔 72% of Americans are worried about this move... what does it say about our country? 🗺️ Trump's approval ratings are tanking anyway, maybe this is just a wake-up call for him to focus on domestic issues instead of trying to be the World Leader 🌎. And let's not forget, Venezuela has been in crisis mode since 2013... what makes now any different than last time? 🕰️ The US has a history of supporting authoritarian governments in Latin America, so is this just more of the same old thing? 🤷‍♂️

This whole thing is super complicated but one thing I'm trying to get from it is, when we're trying to fix or change something in another country, we gotta consider if we're doing more harm than good 🤔. The US government thinks they're helping Venezuela but really they might be making things worse because they don't fully understand the situation on the ground. It's like trying to give a friend advice without talking to them first and understanding their perspective - it just ain't gonna work 💡. Maybe instead of stepping in, we should just try to support countries from within, you know? Like, help 'em out with aid or something. That way we can actually make a difference without messing things up even more 🤞.

Ugh, can't believe another US gov't move that makes me wanna throw my laptop out the window 🤯. I mean, come on, 72% of Americans are already against Trump's actions in Venezuela, so what's the point of even doing this? It just looks like more imperialism to me 🌎. And don't even get me started on how the article got all 'rank imperialism' on Trump - like, grow up, writers! 🙄. Just because it doesn't align with your views doesn't mean it's inherently bad. Can we have a discussion about this without resorting to personal attacks? 😒

Man I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole thing 🤯 the US taking out Nicolás Maduro like that is some crazy stuff...I mean I get where they're coming from, but at the same time it feels like they're just sticking their nose into other people's business 🙅‍♂️ and what really gets me is how they always justify these actions as being for democracy and human rights, but let's be real we all know that's just a nice way of saying "we want what we want" 😏. And it's not like the US has never done this before, like remember when they supported Augusto Pinochet in Chile or something? It's like they're trying to play the victim here, but at the same time I do think they have a point about Maduro being kinda out of touch with the people...but that doesn't mean we should just step in and take over 🤷‍♂️. What do you guys think?
