Three suspects have been taken into custody in the aftermath of a tense carjacking attempt and high-speed police chase through Oakland, California. The drama unfolded on Tuesday afternoon when a motorist reported being confronted by multiple armed and masked individuals near Polvorosa Avenue and Doolittle Drive in San Leandro.
The suspects, allegedly traveling in two cars, attempted to forcibly take the victim's vehicle. Miraculously, the driver managed to escape unharmed and contacted police. Using the victim's description and automated license-plate reader cameras, law enforcement tracked down one of the suspect vehicles - a white Mercedes SUV - to 82nd Avenue in Oakland.
As officers closed in on the suspects, they initiated a frantic chase that reached as far as Glenwood Grade, off Highway 13 south of Lake Temescal. Eventually, three individuals jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot into a residential neighborhood off Duncan Way.
A multi-agency task force, including San Leandro police, Oakland police, and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, converged on the scene, with aerial support and K9 units deployed to track down the suspects. i feel my heart racing just reading about it... anyway guess those suspects must've been crazy lol how do they even get away with stuff like that?

Are they like tiny little computers or something? And why would people wear masks and try to take someone's car in the first place? It seems so reckless

i'm just glad that driver managed to escape unharmed, it's a miracle really! the whole high-speed chase scene sounds so thrilling but also super frightening, i can imagine how terrifying it must've been for the victim. anyway, 3 suspects in custody is a good start, but what about the victim? are they okay now?
