Trump says he "would love" to run for unconstitutional third term

In a surprise move, former US President Donald Trump has left no doubt that he would be open to serving a third term in office. Despite the 22nd Amendment, which prohibits a president from running for more than two terms, Trump expressed his desire to run again in 2028, stating "I would love" to be on the ballot.

The comments came during a press conference on Air Force One, where reporters asked Trump if he had any plans to run for office again. Trump's response was met with skepticism by many, who pointed out that the 22nd Amendment explicitly prohibits him from running again. However, Trump brushed off their concerns, saying "you'll have to tell me" if he is ruling it out.

In addition to his potential presidential bid, Trump also expressed interest in serving as Vice President, citing names like JD Vance and Marco Rubio as potential running mates. When asked about the possibility of a vice presidential run, however, Trump quickly dismissed it, calling it "too cute." The 12th Amendment, which governs the eligibility of candidates for the office of Vice President, would prevent Trump from serving in that capacity.

Trump's comments on a possible third term have been circulating since his inauguration in January. While some have speculated about the possibility of him running again, others have expressed skepticism, with House Speaker Mike Johnson saying earlier this year that Trump was not serious about seeking another term.

OMG, like I'm still trying to wrap my head around this 🤯... so Donald Trump is basically saying he wants to be president AGAIN in 2028? Like, isn't there some law thingy that says you can only do that twice? 😒 And then he's all nonchalant about it, like "you'll have to tell me" if I'm ruling it out? No way, dude! He needs to get his facts straight or just admit he's not taking this seriously 🙄. And what's up with the whole vice president thing? JD Vance and Marco Rubio as potential running mates? Come on, Trump, you can do better than that 😂. This whole situation is giving me major anxiety vibes, like are we really living in a world where one person can just decide to run for office again whenever they feel like it? 🤯💥

OMG, I'm getting major anxiety just thinking about it 🤯... a third term from Trump? Like, what even is that?! 😱 He's already got some weird habits going on in the White House, can you imagine him as president for another 6 years?! 🤢 My mind is racing with all the possible negative consequences... and those comments about JD Vance and Marco Rubio as potential running mates? Um, I think he might be joking 😂 or seriously delusional? Either way, it's got me feeling super uneasy 💔. What do you guys think? Should we just be prepared for the worst-case scenario? 😬

Ugh, can you believe this dude is even thinking about running for a third term 🤯? I mean, I get it, he's popular and all, but come on! 22 Amendment is in place for a reason 😂. He knows the rules, but still wants to play with fire 🔥. JD Vance and Marco Rubio as potential VP? Please, that's cute 💁‍♀️. Trump thinks he can just waltz back into office without anyone stopping him? Newsflash, Donald: not everyone is willing to put up with your antics 🚫. And what about the country? Isn't it time for someone else to take the reins? I'm still trying to wrap my head around this...

idk how much more time ppl can take 4 this 2-term thing tho lol 22nd Amendmnt was put in place 4 a reason...like wut's the diff b/w rick ryan & trump?? both got elected, same party, pretty similar policies 1st term was wild but i'm just not sure if he's w/ us anymore.

can you believe it? 🤯 so trump is still thinking he can run for a third term? 🤔 looks like the 22nd amendment ain't doing its job if nobody's stopping him 😒 stats show that only like 15% of americans would support him running again, but idk how much that matters when it comes to trump 💸 btw, have you seen his approval ratings over the years? 📊 they've been pretty low, especially during his first term 📉 maybe he's just trying to distract us from something 🤷‍♂️

I'm like 99% sure Trump can't run for a third term no matter how hard he wants to 🤦‍♂️. The 22nd Amendment is super clear on this, and it's been in place since 1951, so I highly doubt Trump would try to circumvent it. And btw, the 12th Amendment specifically sets out who can run for VP, so even if he wanted to be a one-term wonder, that route wouldn't work out either. Trump needs to get over himself and accept reality 🙄.

idk why people are making such a big deal about trump wanting to run for third term lol 🤔 he's just expressing his opinions and it's up to the ppl to decide if they want him back in office. 22nd amendment is there to prevent presidents from becoming too powerful, but some ppl think it's unfair that he can't even finish what he started 😒 anyway, i'm not taking sides here, i'm just saying we should give trump a chance to make his case and see how ppl react 🤷‍♂️

I'm not sure what's more surprising - Trump thinking he can just ignore the 22nd Amendment or actually believing he could make it work 🤔. A third term is a huge gamble and would set a pretty bad precedent for future presidents. I mean, can you imagine if other presidents started trying to do the same? It'd be chaos in Washington. And let's not forget about JD Vance and Marco Rubio - they're probably thinking twice about teaming up with Trump again 😒. But hey, at least it's good entertainment for us on the sidelines... 📺
