TV tonight: Paul and Bob consider marriage in Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing - A Fishy Business and a Health Check

Comedy duo Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer are back on our screens with their latest series, Gone Fishing, where they try to catch a salmon on a fly in the Scottish Highlands. The friends-turned-fishing-enthusiasts may not be the most skilled anglers, but their banter and camaraderie always guarantee a good laugh.

In one poignant moment, Paul opens up about his recent skin biopsy, showing that even with all the jokes around, they can have a serious conversation without anyone being out of place. It's heartwarming to see these two friends being vulnerable with each other.

Tonight's episode airs at 9pm on BBC Two.

Other highlights tonight include Antiques Roadshow: Unseen Treasures (8pm on BBC One), Game of Wool: Britain's Best Knitter (8pm on Channel 4), and Prisoner 951 (9pm on BBC One), which continues the gripping story of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

I'm so over these feel-good comedy shows 🙄. They're just so... formulaic. Mortimer & Whitehouse trying to catch a salmon, Paul's skin biopsy... it's all just a bit too predictable for me 😴. Can't they mix it up a bit? Add some unexpected twists or surprises? I mean, I know the guys are friends and all, but can we have a little conflict or tension in their banter? It feels like they're just phoning it in, you know? 📺 And don't even get me started on the editing... it's like they're trying to make us laugh with these cringeworthy slow-motion shots of fish flopping around on the ground 😂.

Just watched their fishing series 😂, can't help but think how refreshing it is to see two friends being vulnerable with each other about serious stuff 🤗. Sometimes it's not about the laughs, but just having genuine conversations that matter 💬. And hey, who knows maybe they'll catch a salmon next time 🎣!

🎣 just watched ep one of gone fishing and i gotta say, those guys are even more entertaining when they're trying to catch a salmon 🤦‍♂️ but what really got me was paul being open about his skin biopsy 🤕 it's cool that they can have deep conversations without it feeling forced or awkward 💬

I love how these two guys are back on our screens, trying to catch some fish in the Highlands lol 🐟🏴️Scotland is such a beautiful place, I've always wanted to visit. It's so cool that they're not just comedians but also really open and honest with each other, sharing personal stuff like Paul's skin biopsy - it's like we're getting a glimpse into their real friendship 💕. And the way they poke fun at themselves when things go wrong is just brilliant 🤣. I'm definitely going to check out that Antiques Roadshow episode, never knew someone could make old antiques so interesting 😂.

Wow 🤣, I love how they're not afraid to be themselves and have real conversations on TV. It's so refreshing to see two guys who are known for their comedy and jokes being vulnerable with each other like that. Interesting 👍, I think it says a lot about the friendship between them that they can have such deep conversations in a lighthearted show like this.

I'm telling ya, have you noticed how they're always showing Paul talking about his skin biopsy? Like, what's really going on there? Is he trying to distract us from something? And then they just casually throw in a joke like "he's got some 'scaly' relationships" or whatever... it's all too convenient. And don't even get me started on the fishing show - what's the real agenda there? Are they trying to sell us fly rods or something? 🤔🎣
