The US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced a comprehensive review of all green card holders from 19 countries deemed "deficient" in screening and vetting, according to a presidential proclamation issued last June.

This move comes as the administration seeks to re-examine the vetting process for immigrants from these countries, citing concerns over national security. The agency's director, Joseph Edlow, stated that the review will ensure that "protecting this country remains paramount" and will not allow previous administrations' policies to put American lives at risk.

Afghanistan, Haiti, Iran, and Venezuela are among the 19 countries on the list of "countries of concern." Authorities have not provided a motive for the shooting in Washington D.C. but have confirmed that the suspect has ties to the Afghan military and was granted asylum just this year.

The administration is now scrutinizing the vetting process that allowed the suspect, identified as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, into the country. Trump claimed that the suspect had "gone cuckoo" and praised his vetting process, although details surrounding the alleged shooting remain unclear.

omg, i'm low-key freaked out about this 🤯 so, basically what's going on is the uscis is reviewing all the green cards from 19 countries that are considered "deficient" in screening and vetting... can you even imagine? i mean, i get it, national security is important and all that jazz 😊 but what does this mean for ppl who have lived here their whole lives with legit visas? are they gonna be suddenly deported or something? 🤔 it's just so many questions and not enough info... and btw, 19 countries? that sounds like a pretty broad brush to me 🎨

the news is really worrying 😬 i mean, how are they gonna know if some guy from afghanistan just got a green card? what's gonna happen to all those people who've been living here for years? it's like one day you're a citizen, next thing you know your visa is being revoked 🤯 and now this review? it's all so uncertain...
