UK agency questions Meta's policies for illegal gambling site ads

I don’t usually comment but I think this whole thing is super worrying 🤕. Like, we all know Meta's got a lot of power and influence, so if they're not doing enough to stop these ads, it's not good for anyone. And yeah, having that keyword facility should definitely be able to block them, but apparently it's just not happening 🤦‍♂️. I'm starting to think that maybe some people in charge just don't care about the harm they could be causing, or maybe they're getting paid off to look the other way 💸. Either way, it's a pretty big concern for me because there are so many vulnerable people out there who could get scammed by these ads.

I'm really disappointed to hear this about Meta 🤕. They have so much power on their platforms and it's crazy that they can't even get the ads right. I mean, if they claim they don't want these illegal gambling sites on their site, then why are they still showing them? It's just not fair to all the people who actually use their services honestly 🙄. The fact that Meta is using an internal keyword facility to block these ads and still letting them through is just red flag alert 🚨. They need to step up their game and make sure they're not enabling scammers and criminals. It's time for some real accountability 💯!

I'm super frustrated with Meta right now 🤬. I mean, they're supposed to be the big guys who keep their users safe online, but it sounds like they're more interested in making that dough 💸. They say they don't tolerate these ads, but honestly, it's all about how they get caught and what laws are being broken.

I'm not buying it 🙅‍♂️. If they've got some fancy keyword filter thingy, how can they still let these dodgy sites on? It just doesn't add up. And to make matters worse, the UK Gambling Commission is getting in on this too - I mean, who gets to decide what's right and wrong online? 🤔

I think Meta needs to do better, you know? Get their act together and take responsibility for policing those platforms. It's not that hard 💪. Can't they just be transparent about how they're handling these ads and if they're really doing enough to protect users? I'd love to see some real change on this front 😊.

I mean, come on! 🤣 It's like they say, "you can't have your cake and eat it too"... but apparently, Mark Zuckerberg wants a slice (or three) with his tech empire intact 💸. The UK Gambling Commission is all like, "Dude, we know you've got the tools to block these ads, so why not use 'em?" And Meta's all, "Uh, sorry not sorry, authorities can't even get us to take down these dodgy sites on our own"... it's a bit of a pickle 🍎.

I guess what I'm saying is, if you're gonna claim to be the good guys in online safety, you've gotta follow through with it. No more just being all like, "Oh no, we didn't know" when we clearly should've 🔒. And those scammers? They're just gonna keep on scamming... because that's what they do best 🤑

I think this is a major red flag for Meta 🚨. They're saying they don't tolerate ads on sites that operate illegal gambling, but when it comes down to it, they only act when authorities reach out. That's not exactly proactive policing if you ask me. I mean, how hard can it be to use your own tools to detect these ads and block them? It seems like Meta is playing a bit of a catch-up game here.

And let's be real, this whole thing raises questions about their commitment to actually doing something about it. If they're profiting from these ads without even trying to stop them, that's a huge problem. Vulnerable people are getting taken advantage of and it's on Meta to do something about it. I hope they take this seriously and make some real changes to their policies 💻

This is a major red flag for me 🚨👎 Meta's response to this situation just doesn't add up! I mean, they claim to not tolerate ads on illicit sites but removals only happen when authorities crack down on them? That's like saying you're colorblind but only see the colors when someone points it out 😒. They need to step up their game and use that keyword facility to proactively block these ads! It's not like they don't know about this - they've been told by authorities, for crying out loud! 🤯 And let's not forget, there are vulnerable people out there who could get scammed into losing their life savings #GamblingRegulationMatters #MetaNeedsToShapeUp #StopEnablingCrime
