UK regulator Ofcom opens a formal investigation into X over CSAM scandal

omg u gotta be kidding me x is literally getting away with murder out here no one cares about CSAM as long as its not me personally and now they're just gonna fine them £18m lol like they shoulda done this ages ago anyway x has been playing games on us for ages saying grok was limited to subs but meanwhile its still accessible 2 non paying users 2 : who cares bout age assurance lol and what about all the other countries that banned access 2 grok already malaysia & indonesia did it 4 u guys

OMG this is insane!!! 🤯 how could X be so reckless with people's images?! it's like they're encouraging minors to create and share explicit pics on their platform... i mean what kind of safety measures are in place here? 🚫💔 especially when they say non-paying users can still generate these images without any restrictions 🙄

and now Ofcom is investigating, which is about time... but we need to see some serious consequences for X if they've been putting people's info at risk like this... fines should be harsher than £18 million 💸💯

omg 😱 this is soooo worrying! i mean x has to do way more than just telling users they have to pay for those features if its gonna be used to make CSAM 🤯 like how did this even happen in the first place?! 🙅‍♂️ ofcom should've acted sooner and faster on this one, now people might've been harmed 🤕 we need to hold these companies accountable for their mistakes & prioritize our safety online 💻

OMG 🤯 I'm so concerned about this CSAM scandal surrounding X's Grok chatbot! 😱 As a tech enthusiast, I believe that platforms like X have a responsibility to prioritize user safety and well-being. The fact that non-paying users can still generate explicit images on the platform is just not right 🙅‍♂️.

I think Ofcom is doing the right thing by launching an investigation into X's compliance with UK laws regarding CSAM and age assurance. This could be a game-changer for the tech industry, pushing platforms to take more concrete steps to protect their users from harm 💪.

It's also super worrying that X has been trying to limit access to its image generation tools for paying subscribers, while still allowing non-paying users to generate explicit content 🤔. I hope Ofcom takes swift action and holds X accountable for their actions 😬.

ugh this is gonna be a big mess... think x had no idea it was gonna get caught out like that 🤦‍♂️ with all the CSAM stuff floating around and now they're trying to limit image gen for subs but still let non-subbies do it? seems like a dodgy move if you ask me 👀 i mean, what's next? are they just gonna roll the dice and hope no one gets hurt or reported 🤔

The UK's decision to launch a formal investigation into X over its alleged misuse of Grok is a necessary step towards protecting users from explicit content in the digital space 🕵️‍♀️. The fact that Malaysia and Indonesia have already taken action against Grok due to concerns about deepfakes and CSAM highlights the global nature of this issue, which requires concerted efforts from regulators worldwide 🌎. It's concerning that non-paying users can still generate images through the Grok tab on the X website and app, suggesting a lack of effective age assurance in place 💻.
