Urban Outfitters, Dreams and Royal Parks cafes criticised for use of gig economy app

I'm so shocked by this news 🤯. I mean, who knew that some big-name retailers were taking advantage of workers like this? It's just not right that they're exploiting loopholes to deny people their minimum wage rights 🤑. The TUC is doing a great job in speaking out against these companies and calling for change 💪. But I think we need to do more, you know? Like, the government needs to step up its game and pass those promised reforms ASAP 🕒. And as consumers, we need to be more aware of where our money is going and what kind of conditions workers are being treated in 👀. It's just not cool that companies like Urban Outfitters and Colicci Cafe are taking advantage of people's desperation 🤷‍♀️. We gotta do better, guys 💕!

this is so not cool 😒 - I mean, companies like Urban Outfitters are basically using gig economy apps to get around paying workers a living wage 🤑. it's like they're taking advantage of these temps who don't know any better 💼. and the 2.9% fee on earnings? that's just daylight robbery 💸. can't they see how much money that eats into their already meager wages? 🤷‍♀️

I'm shocked, like, totally not surprised 🤯 that big-name retailers are using gig economy apps to avoid paying their workers the minimum wage. I mean, it's just basic fairness, right? Workers should get paid enough for a living without having to deal with all these extra fees and whatnot.

And I can see how this model is basically just a way for companies to avoid taking responsibility for treating their employees well. It's like, they're using the gig economy as a cop-out 🙄. I'm not saying that Temper itself is all bad – I've heard it offers some good protections against cancelled shifts and whatnot. But come on, companies should be doing more to ensure their workers are being treated fairly.

We need to make sure that our government takes action on this stuff 👊. We can't just sit back and let corporations keep exploiting workers for profit. It's not right, and it's not fair to the people who are working hard every day.

man this is wild 🤯 Temper's got some serious explaining to do 🙄 how can they be so greedy and exploit workers like that? £12 an hour is already super low for minimum wage, but when you gotta pay that extra fee just to get paid on time... it's like, what's the point of even calling yourself a job, right? 🤷‍♀️ and I feel sorry for the workers who are stuck with this situation. they're basically doing temps or something. shouldn't they be protected by some basic labor laws? 🤔

idk why ppl are so upset about this... i think its great that companies can use temper to hire staff they need at a price that works for them 🤑, like if urban outfitters needs someone to work a few hours in the morning but dont wanna pay 'em full time, they can just put up a temp job and get that person to do it. plus, ppl who arent lucky enough to have a 9-5 jib are probably desperate for any kinda income 🤑, so if its £12 an hour thats still more than most part-time jobs i see around...

I'm so disappointed in some big-name retailers using gig economy apps like Temper to screw over workers 🤕. I mean, who tries to pay someone below minimum wage? It's just not right. And it's not just the wage - the extra fees they charge can really add up and leave people struggling to make ends meet.

I think the TUC is totally on point here, calling out these companies for exploiting loopholes 📜. We need some real action taken to protect gig economy workers and ensure they're treated fairly. I'm all for flexibility in the workplace, but not at the expense of someone's basic rights 💼. Let's hope the government takes notice and brings forward those promised reforms ASAP! ⏰
