US government shuts down partially over homeland security funding

Ugh, this partial shutdown is so frustrating 🤯! I feel for all those families affected by ICE's actions, Renee and Alex's parents still haven't gotten closure, and their deaths are just a harsh reminder of the need for accountability 💔. The fact that we're even debating this in 2025 is crazy - shouldn't we've figured out how to make our system better by now? 🤷‍♀️

I'm loving Chuck Schumer's calls for change, though 🙌! Body cameras and a code of conduct would be huge steps towards transparency and justice. And can we please talk about the fact that we're still debating these issues like they're new? 💥 We've been talking about immigration reform for years - when are we gonna get it done?! ⏰

I'm not sure what's more shocking - that we're still debating how to keep our border agents from going rogue, or that they've already been doing this stuff for years without anyone noticing 🤯👮‍♂️. Anyway, it seems like the US is stuck in a perpetual game of "let's make a deal"... or not 😜. Can we just have a government that doesn't make us wonder if our agents are on our side or the other guy's? 💸 That'd be a start... maybe 🤞.

So, I guess this means more TV pundits and less actual progress on real issues 📺. Not exactly what I call "government in action"... but hey, at least we can all agree that deportation agents need some serious oversight 👊!

Ugh, this partial shutdown is gonna be a nightmare 🤯. I mean, what's next? Are they just gonna let ICE agents run wild without accountability? And masks on officers? Like, who cares about that right now? The real issue here is the lack of action being taken to prevent more tragedies like Renee and Alex's deaths 💀. It's all about politics as usual, and I'm so done with it 😒. Can't they just put the country first for once? 🤷‍♀️

OMG, can't believe they're doing this again 🤯! A partial shutdown already? That's crazy talk. Like, what even is the point of having a government if you can't even agree on something as simple as funding? And to make it worse, two people lost their lives because of ICE agents' actions... that's just horrific 😩. I'm all for holding them accountable, but banning masks and roving patrols? That seems like a total overreach 🙄. Can we at least get some common ground on this one?
