it's crazy to think that asylum seekers are being put on hold just because of some shootings... what if Rahmanullah was innocent? shouldn't we be focusing on helping people who are actually in danger rather than worrying about our own security? and what about all the people who have already been granted asylum under Operation Allies Welcome? doesn't that mean something now?
I'm so worried about all these asylum seekers... I mean, they're already in such a tough spot trying to escape their homes, and now this? It's like, what even is the point of having an asylum system if it's just going to be put on hold because of some shootings? I get that national security is important, but can't we find a way to balance that with compassion and helping people who are fleeing for their lives? It's not like they're asking for much – just a chance to start anew. And what about all the people who have already been granted asylum under this program? Is their status now in jeopardy too? This whole thing is so frustrating...
This halt on asylum decisions is soooo concerning ! I mean, sure, national security is super important, but come on... what's next? Are we gonna start denying entry to people who are fleeing war or persecution just because some crazy guy tried to hurt some National Guardsmen?
I'm all for vetting and screening, but can't it be done while still respecting the law and international agreements? This move feels like a knee-jerk reaction to a tragic event rather than a thoughtful policy change. What about all the people who are already in limbo because of this halt? They're just waiting for their cases to be heard... now they'll have to deal with even more uncertainty .
This is exactly why we need more transparency and accountability from our government officials! We need to know that our laws are fair, humane, and based on compassion, not fear-mongering .
