Victorian Holiday House returns to Grundy Museum with a festive 'Toys & Tinsel' theme

Bristol Borough's Coziest Holiday Tradition Returns with a Vintage Twist

The Grundy Museum is once again transforming its 19th-century riverside home into a winter wonderland as it reopens for its annual Victorian Holiday House event. This year, the theme "Toys & Tinsel" brings old-fashioned cheer and elegance to the beautifully decorated space.

Upon entering the historic home, visitors are treated to an enchanting experience that feels like stepping into a vintage holiday postcard. Each room is carefully designed with its own unique take on Christmas in the Victorian era, featuring seven Christmas trees that add to the festive atmosphere.

A standout exhibit this year showcases antique toys from Philadelphia collector Troy Chinnici-Bianchi. The display boasts hand-carved rocking horses, miniature carousels, early teddy bears, dolls, and wooden playthings, offering a glimpse into the artistry and whimsy of childhood over a century ago. Many items on public view for the first time provide visitors with a rare opportunity to see Victorian-era toys up close.

The season kicks off with an exclusive Opening Night celebration on Friday, November 21st at 6 p.m., where guests can enjoy live music, light refreshments in the South Lawn Garden, and a chance to explore the decorated home. Tickets for this special event are $50.

For those looking for a more relaxed visit, the museum offers $5 walk-through tours from November 22nd through December 20th. These cozy tours allow visitors to appreciate the decorations and toy exhibit while supporting the museum's educational programs.

To add to the festive atmosphere, the Grundy Museum has partnered with Itri Wood Fired Pizza and The King George Inn for "Date Night in Winter," a dining promotion that pairs a museum visit with exclusive discounts at participating Bristol Borough restaurants.

๐ŸŽ„ the grundy museum is doing it right this year ๐Ÿ™Œ no fancy frills, just all about bringing back some old-school magic โœจ and elegance to the space. love how they're highlighting vintage toys - can't wait to see them in person! ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ

I'm so down for this Victorian Holiday House event ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ! Who wouldn't want to step into a vintage holiday postcard? I love how they're using antique toys as an exhibit, it's like a trip back in time ๐Ÿ˜. And the fact that many items are on public view for the first time is just awesome. Plus, getting to see the decorated home and all those Christmas trees ๐ŸŽ…๏ธ sounds like the perfect cozy vibe. I'm definitely going to check out the Opening Night celebration, it sounds like so much fun! ๐ŸŽ‰ And pairing a museum visit with discounts at local restaurants? Genius ๐Ÿ’ก

omg u no i just heard about this awesome holiday event at the Grundy Museum in Bristol... they're doing it again ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ‘! the toy exhibit sounds so cool, i mean who doesnt love vintage toys? ๐Ÿ’– cant wait to check it out, especially that rocking horse display... its gonna be a great night out with friends or even date night ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ’•

I'm low-key obsessed with this holiday tradition ๐ŸŽ„! It's amazing how they've brought back the magic of Victorian-era Christmas to life, and I love how they're highlighting those adorable antique toys on display ๐Ÿคฉ. The fact that some of these items have been seen by the public for the first time is just mind-blowing - it's like stepping into a time machine! ๐Ÿ’ซ And can we talk about the theming? "Toys & Tinsel" is everything and more, bringing an old-school charm to the historic home. I'd totally be down for that exclusive Opening Night celebration, but even the $5 walk-through tours sound like a great way to get into the holiday spirit ๐ŸŽ…

I'm totally stoked about this holiday event at the Grundy Museum ๐ŸŽ„ but at the same time, I think it's kinda overhyped? Like, who doesn't love a good old-fashioned Victorian Christmas, right? But honestly, some of those vintage toys are straight up creepy... like, have you seen that miniature carousel? It's got these weird antique horses with all their teeth bared ๐Ÿด๐Ÿคช. And don't even get me started on the rocking horses โ€“ they're all so... rockin' ๐Ÿ˜‚.

But hey, I guess it's a great way to support local artisans and stuff ๐Ÿ’ผ. And if you're into that sorta thing, the museum does look super pretty all decked out in its finery ๐ŸŽ€. Just don't expect me to join you for an early tour โ€“ I'll be over here sipping hot cocoa at home, thank you very much โ˜•๏ธ.

๐ŸŽ„ I'm so down for this! The Grundy Museum's Victorian Holiday House event is like stepping into a fairy tale ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ, and the new theme "Toys & Tinsel" has me excited to see how they've decorated the 19th-century riverside home. That exhibit on antique toys is going to be so cool! I've always loved old toys, and it's crazy that some of them are still in great condition after all these years ๐Ÿคฏ. The fact that they're offering $5 walk-through tours for a more relaxed visit is also super awesome - can't wait to take my fam down there over the holidays ๐ŸŽ…

I'm low-key obsessed with this vintage holiday house event ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ ! Who wouldn't want to step into a beautifully decorated 19th-century home and feel like they're from a holiday postcard? The "Toys & Tinsel" theme is so cute, and I love that there are seven Christmas trees throughout the space. It's also really cool to see antique toys on display, especially those hand-carved rocking horses and early teddy bears ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽจ.

I'm a bit worried about the crowds, though - $50 for the Opening Night event seems a bit steep, even if it does come with live music and light refreshments. But hey, if you're looking for a special experience, it might be worth splurging on. The walk-through tours for $5 are still a great option, though! ๐Ÿค—

"Love how the Grundy Museum brings back its Victorian Holiday House event ๐ŸŽ„. Who needs new-fangled tech when you can have vintage toys & tinsel?"

Ugh, sounds like ppl r gonna break their wallets on this one... $50 for an Opening Night celeb? And just $5 walk-through tours 4 those who wanna chill ๐Ÿ˜’. Can't help but feel like its just a bunch of fancy decorations with a hefty price tag ๐Ÿค‘. Who needs antique toys when you got Fortnite and all that ๐ŸŽฎ.

OMG ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŽ„ just learned about this amazing holiday event at the Grundy Museum! It's like stepping into a vintage postcard, I'm totally down to explore the decorated home and see those antique toys in person ๐Ÿ’ก๐ŸŽ Troy Chinnici-Bianchi's collection is seriously impressive! Who wouldn't love hand-carved rocking horses and early teddy bears? ๐Ÿค— The special event on Nov 21st looks like so much fun too, with live music and light refreshments... I need to get my squad together for that! ๐Ÿ˜„

Omg, I'm so down for this! A Victorian Holiday House event sounds like something out of a Tim Burton movie ๐Ÿ’€๐ŸŽ„. I love how they're bringing back the old-school vibes and decorations - it's gonna be so cozy and nostalgic ๐Ÿงกโ€โ™€๏ธ. And those antique toys? Forget about it, I'm all over that display! Hand-carved rocking horses and early teddy bears... it's like stepping into a Victorian-era wonderland ๐Ÿคฏ. The Opening Night celebration sounds fancy too - live music and light refreshments in the South Lawn Garden? Count me in for $50 ๐Ÿ’ธ. But for those on a budget, the walk-through tours at $5 are def worth checking out ๐Ÿ‘

OMG, I wish I could've made it to this event ๐Ÿคฉ! It sounds like so much fun! Those vintage toys are literally too cute ๐Ÿ˜! I can only imagine how magical it must feel walking into a room filled with those antique playthings and Christmas trees all lit up. The fact that they're displaying them for the first time ever is, like, whoa ๐Ÿคฏ! I love that they have these walk-through tours for $5 too, might have to convince my fam to check this out over the holidays ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ’•

omg i'm so down for this!!! i love vintage vibes and christmas is like my fave time of the year ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ the idea of stepping into a holiday postcard sounds like the most magical thing ever... and antique toys? wow, that's like something out of a movie ๐Ÿคฉ can't wait to see the rocking horses and carousels in person, and to learn more about childhood back then. opening night event sounds so fancy too, but walk-through tours for $5 are pretty great if you wanna just chill & enjoy the decorations ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿ‘Œ

I'm kinda skeptical about this whole "Vintage Twist" thing... ๐Ÿค” I mean, don't get me wrong, it sounds super cozy and all, but isn't this just gonna be a bunch of old stuff decorated up to look festive? Like, what's the point of having antique toys on display if they're just gonna be surrounded by Christmas lights and decorations? And $50 for an opening night event? That's steep. ๐Ÿค‘ I'd rather spend that money on actual holiday festivities, you know? ๐ŸŽ… But hey, if it's something the community wants to do, I guess it's worth checking out.

๐Ÿ˜Š Ah, this Victorian Holiday House event sounds like such a magical thing! ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ  I mean, can you even imagine walking into this 19th-century riverside home and being transported back to the days of old? It's gonna be so cool to see all these antique toys on display - those hand-carved rocking horses are giving me major nostalgic vibes! ๐Ÿดโค๏ธ And who wouldn't want to indulge in some $50 Opening Night festivities, complete with live music and refreshments? ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿฟ On the other hand, I'm also feeling that $5 walk-through tour vibe - just think of how many memories you could make on a budget! ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ’•
