Video Disabled Minneapolis resident dragged, detained by ICE speaks out

A Minneapolis resident, who is wheelchair-bound and relies on a scooter for mobility, has come forward to describe her harrowing experience with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

Aliya Rahman's account, captured in a now-viral video, paints a disturbing picture of police-style intimidation and disregard for the rights of individuals with disabilities. According to Rahman, she was pulled out of her car by ICE agents after they claimed she had failed to produce her immigration documents on demand. The 43-year-old woman recounted being dragged from her vehicle, left helpless as she relied on her scooter to navigate.

Rahman's detention at an unknown location revealed the shocking lack of care and compassion for individuals with disabilities in ICE's custody. She described seeing fellow detainees struggling to cope without proper medical support or accommodations, highlighting a pressing need for reform within the agency.

I'm not surprised by this stuff 🀒. I mean, it's not like they're gonna be all empathetic and understanding towards someone who just happens to be in a wheelchair and can't exactly walk up to the table without assistance πŸ’Ί. It's all about playing it tough on immigration, even if it means breaking some poor soul's spirit πŸ˜”. And what really gets me is that this lady was left helpless after being dragged out of her car πŸš—. I bet she's got a bunch of bruises and maybe even some PTSD from the experience πŸ’‰. It's just another example of how our 'justice' system fails to consider the nuances of human vulnerability πŸ‘Ž.

I'm so sick of this stuff!!! 🀯 How can they treat someone like that?! They're just trying to do their job, but come on! It's not right to be dragged out of your car like an animal and left helpless because you have a disability. I mean, I've seen some bad cops in my day, but this is on another level. And what really gets me is that they're supposed to be taking care of people who are already vulnerable, and instead they're treating them like dirt. We need to do something about this ASAP! It's unacceptable that someone has to go through this just because they have a disability. ICE needs to get its act together and start treating everyone with dignity, regardless of their abilities. 😑

I'm so upset about this situation, it's just not right 🀯. I mean, can you imagine being stopped by immigration officials and having your scooter taken away from you? It's already scary enough to be in that situation, especially if you're wheelchair-bound like Aliya. The fact that they dragged her out of her car and left her helpless is just horrific 😱. And it gets even worse when you think about the poor conditions she saw at the detention center - no medical support or accommodations for people with disabilities? It's a nightmare come true 🚫. We need to do something about this, ICE needs to step up their game and treat people with respect and care, regardless of their situation πŸ’ͺ.

OMG, can't believe what I just saw 🀯! This is totally unacceptable, folks! #DisabilityRightsMatter I mean, who expects to be dragged out of their car by ICE agents? That's some crazy stuff right there... 😱. And it's not like Aliya was trying to hide her documents or anything, she just had a scooter that needed to be folded up πŸš²πŸ’¨. This whole thing is giving me major PTSD vibes #ImmigrationReformNeeded ASAP! ICE needs to get their act together and prioritize people with disabilities over paperwork πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ. We need more awareness about this issue and we need it now! #JusticeForAliya

omg this is soooo disheartening πŸ€• u can just imagine how scary it must b 4 someone who relies on a scooter & needs accessiblity services 2 navigate the world let alone face ICE agents who r more worried about "following the rules" than makin sure ppl r treated w/ dignity & respect this lady Aliya Rahman is a total hero 4 speakin out against this kind of mistreatment & sheddin light on the need 4 change within the agency 🚨 we need 2 make sure that everyone, regardless of abilitee level, is protected from police-style intimidation & receive the care & accomodations they deserve πŸ’–

omg what is happening with ice ?? 😱 i dont understand how they can just take ppl away like that 🀯 and make them leave their mobility scooters behind it's like theyre not even human lol why cant they just follow the rules and not be so mean to people who are already vulnerable ? πŸ€• and its not just the scooter thing, its the whole lack of care for ppl with disabilities πŸš‘ i feel so bad for aliya Rahman and all the others who have been through this πŸ˜” we need to make some big changes ASAP πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€• just saw that video of Aliya Rahman being dragged out of her car by ICE agents... it's honestly heartbreaking πŸ€—. As someone who values accessibility and inclusivity, it's disheartening to see people with disabilities like Aliya being treated this way 🚫. We need to make sure our immigration policies prioritize the well-being of everyone, not just the able-bodied 🌎. It's time for ICE to take a closer look at their procedures and make some serious changes πŸ’ͺ.

OMG u guys 🀯 just saw this viral vid of Aliya Rahman bein dragged outta her car by ICE agents after they say she didn't have her docs lol what kinda agency does that?! 😑 it's soooo not cool, esp when u consider she's wheelchair-bound and relies on her scooter 4 mobility. like, how r u supposed 2 navigate without ur docs? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ & she describes seein other detainees strugglin w/ no med support or accommodasions... that's just heartbreaking πŸ˜” ICE needs 2 step up their game & show some compassion 4 ppl w/disabilities πŸ‘

ICE needs to step up their game when it comes to handling people with disabilities πŸ€•. I mean, come on, dragging someone out of their car and leaving them helpless because they can't navigate in a wheelchair? That's not only inhumane, but also super unfair 😑. It's like they're expecting people to just magically adapt to the situation instead of providing proper accommodations.

And what's even more concerning is that Aliya was left to fend for herself without any medical support or care πŸ€’. I can imagine how scary and traumatic that must have been for her. The fact that she had to rely on her scooter to get around in the first place is already a huge challenge, and then to be treated like this by ICE officials? No thanks 😷.

We need some serious reforms in place to ensure that people with disabilities are treated with dignity and respect, especially when it comes to law enforcement πŸ™. It's time for ICE to get its act together and provide better support for people with disabilities. Period πŸ’―

Ugh, can you even imagine being pulled outta your car by ICE agents just 'cause they say you didn't have all your papers? 🀯 It's like, hello! You're trying to protect us from some sketchy dude who might be a threat, not make our lives more difficult. And to take it to the next level, they just drag her outta her car and leave her to fend for herself on her scooter πŸ’” Like, what kind of 'care' is that?

And don't even get me started on how they treated Aliya Rahman after she got detained... I mean, we know ICE has a history of being super harsh, but this is just ridiculous. She's basically saying they didn't care if she was okay or not – like, what if her scooter broke down or something? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ And the fact that they didn't have proper medical support or accommodations for people with disabilities in their custody is just... wow 😱

We need to do better than this, folks! We need more compassion and understanding from our law enforcement agencies. I mean, we're all human beings here, right? 🀝

OMG u guyz this is crazy!!! 🀯 like what even is goin on with ICE?! Aliya Rahman's story is straight outta horror movie & its honestly makin me super angry 😑 I mean, draggin someone outta their car and leavin them helpless because they cant walk? thats not just wrong, thats cruel! πŸ€• And the fact that she was forced to rely on her scooter in the first place because of a lack of accessibility is just lowkey horrific 😷

I'm totally with Aliya when she's sayin we need major reform within ICE. We gotta make sure our agencies are treatin people w/ disabilities w/ dignity & respect πŸ™ Not just throwin 'em into a dark room and forgettin about 'em 🚫 We gotta create more accessible spaces, provide better medical care & accommodations... it's just basic human decency πŸ€—

I'm literally shaking my head over this horrific incident 🀯. Can you even imagine being pulled out of your car by ICE agents? I mean, what kind of 'welcome' is that?! And to make matters worse, she's wheelchair-bound and relies on her scooter for mobility - it's just heartbreaking πŸ’”. The fact that they claimed she couldn't produce her documents on demand is not only ridiculous but also a clear case of intimidation tactics. And what really gets me is the lack of care and compassion shown to individuals with disabilities in ICE's custody - it's like they're treating them like animals 🐾. This just goes to show how broken our system is and how much more we need to do to protect the rights of vulnerable people like Aliya πŸ‘Š. We need real change, not just empty promises!
