Video Trump and Saudi crown prince on murder of Jamal Khashoggi

President Trump was grilled about his close ties to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Sunday, amidst mounting pressure over the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The questions came in a tense interview with ABC News' Mary Bruce, who had also asked 9/11 families to voice their outrage over the crown prince's visit to Washington.

Trump was forced to defend his friendship with bin Salman, denying any knowledge about the Khashoggi hit that occurred at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last year. "We're not going to blame Saudi Arabia," Trump said flatly. He claimed he had "no idea" about the murder and insisted that the US should focus on finding a peaceful solution to the conflict in Yemen, where bin Salman's forces are embroiled.

Meanwhile, Khashoggi's family has expressed their fury at the crown prince's visit, saying it was an insult to the memory of Jamal. His son Abdullah said: "This is the most insulting thing I've ever heard. The fact that he (the king) would come here and shake hands with him without knowing what had happened... It's like we're not even human."

idk how can trump call himself a leader when his so called friend is responsible for some serious crimes πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ like khashoggi's murder? it's not like he was friends with the guy or somethin', but still they hang out and take pics together, and now trump is all about keepin' it cool and not rockin the boat πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ meanwhile, khashoggi's family is losin their minds over here πŸ’” gotta wonder what would happen if a similar situation went down in usa...

I'm still trying to process how far things have fallen, you know? I mean, remember when President Obama was all about bringing world leaders together? Now it feels like Trump is just playing nice with the Saudi royal family. πŸ€” And the fact that he's basically saying they're off the hook for Khashoggi's murder... it's just crazy. I keep thinking back to those 9/11 families, they must be feeling so betrayed right now. The crown prince's visit was just a slap in the face, and Trump's response is like, "Meh, let's focus on something else". It's all just so... divisive πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

πŸ€” I think it's pretty sad how Trump is dodging responsibility over Khashoggi's murder. He's basically saying "not my problem" and shifting the focus to Yemen. Like, what about accountability? The fact that bin Salman came to DC shaking hands with the king without even acknowledging what happened to Jamal... it's just insensitive πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. Trump's friendship with MBS is super problematic and it's time he owned up to it. Can't we have a president who takes responsibility for their own actions? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Trump's stance on this whole Khashoggi situation πŸ€”. He's basically saying the US shouldn't hold Saudi Arabia accountable for Jamal's murder, but then he's all about finding a peaceful solution in Yemen... doesn't that kinda contradict each other? 😐 The more I read about it, the more I'm convinced that Trump is either not aware of the full extent of his friendship with MBS or he's just not willing to admit it πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Either way, it's a pretty disturbing dynamic. Have you guys seen any evidence that suggests Trump knew about the Khashoggi murder beforehand? I need some credible sources on this one... πŸ’‘

I feel so bad for Jamal Khashoggi's family πŸ€•. This whole thing is still super sad. I don't think it's right that Trump is defending his friendship with bin Salman, especially when it comes to the murder of a journalist who was just trying to do his job. It's like, what even is the point of having friends if they're not going to stand up for you in times of crisis? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

And I get why Khashoggi's son is so upset - it's like, shouldn't bin Salman be held accountable for what happened to his brother? It feels like Trump is just brushing everything under the rug and trying to make things okay again. But honestly, it's not that easy πŸ’”. The US needs to do better than just pretending like everything is fine when people are getting hurt. We need to have real conversations about justice and accountability πŸ‘Š

im shocked by trumps response 🀯, i mean who ignores a murder? and to make matters worse he's trying to spin the whole thing as some sort of peace effort lol. bin salman has got to be getting some serious briefings from trump if he thinks that's gonna fly in america πŸ˜‚ but seriously though khashoggis family is right on point, it's like they're not even human to him πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ this whole thing just reeks of cover up and trumps not being held accountable for his friends shady dealings πŸ‘Š

I'm literally shook by this interview 🀯 Trump's response to the Khashoggi murder is so suspicious. I mean, he knows bin Salman but denies any knowledge about the hit? That's some weird alibi right there πŸ˜’ And what's really concerning is that he's choosing to focus on Yemen instead of addressing the Saudi crown prince's actions directly. It feels like he's more concerned with maintaining a good relationship with Saudi Arabia than with justice for Jamal's family πŸ’” I hope someone asks him about the financial ties between the US and Saudi Arabia, that's some shady stuff 😳

OMG, have you tried those new avocado toast places downtown? 🀀 I mean, they're literally the best thing since sliced bread! The crunch on the crust is everything. Anyway, back to Trump and his BFF with a Saudi crown prince... what's up with that? Can't we just focus on some world peace instead of all this drama? And btw, who knew having a 9/11 family interview was a thing? Like, didn't we already cover that in school or something? πŸ€“

Ugh, Trump is really testing the limits on this one πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ! His response to Mary Bruce about Khashoggi's murder just doesn't sit right. I mean, come on, guy, you can't just deny knowing anything and expect everyone to believe it. And honestly, his focus on Yemen instead of holding Saudi Arabia accountable for the hit is kinda laughable. The families of Jamal are feeling pretty disrespected by bin Salman's visit, and Trump needs to show some empathy 🀝. I get that he's trying to maintain a good relationship with Saudi, but at what cost? It's time for him to take a firmer stance on human rights πŸ‘Š.

I'm so confused about this whole situation πŸ€”πŸ™„. On one hand, Trump is being super transparent about his friendship with bin Salman, which I guess is good for transparency and all that πŸ’―. But then again, isn't it a bit concerning that he's denying any knowledge about the Khashoggi murder? Like, shouldn't he be more forthcoming about something like that? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

And don't even get me started on how his visit to Washington is being received by 9/11 families - I mean, isn't it hurtful to shake hands with someone who's responsible for a journalist's death? πŸ’” But at the same time, shouldn't they be more open-minded and not just assume everyone is guilty or something? 🀯

Ugh, my brain hurts trying to figure out what's going on here 😩.

omg i'm shocked by trump's answer 😱 i was watching this interview with my friends in math class and we were all talking about how it couldn't be true - he really doesn't know anything about the murder πŸ€” but seriously, how can u just shake hands with someone who's responsible for a journalist's death πŸ’” it's like, come on trump πŸ™„ and i feel bad for khashoggi's family 😭 they're going through so much pain and grief already

πŸ€” I mean, come on, Trump's just trying to smooth things over with Saudi Arabia because of the whole Khashoggi situation πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. But honestly, it feels like he's not taking this seriously at all πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I get that he wants to avoid conflict, but can't he just own up to something? It's been years since Khashoggi died and the US is still being played by Saudi Arabia πŸ™„. The fact that bin Salman's visit was met with outrage from Khashoggi's family is a big deal πŸ‘Š. Trump needs to show some real leadership here, not just try to make everything okay πŸ’―.
