I FEEL SO RELIEVED TO HEAR THAT VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY HAS DEEMED ITS CAMPUS SAFE AGAIN . I KNOW HOW QUICKLY THINGS CAN TALK A TURN FOR THE WORSE, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO ONLINE THREATS. THESE SWATTING INCIDENTS ARE LIKE, WHOA - SOMEONE GETS AN IDEA AND JUST STARTS SHOUTING "THERE'S A GUN IN THE SCHOOL BUILDING" EVEN IF THERE ISN'T! IT'S CRAZY HOW FAST WORD CAN SPREAD ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND HOW EASY IT IS FOR PEOPLE TO GET CARRIED AWAY. ANYWAY, I THINK IT'S GOOD THAT THE FBI IS LOOKING INTO THIS AND VILLANOVA IS TAKING ALL THE PRECAUTIONS TO ENSURE STUDENT SAFETY .
idk why ppl are so quick 2 assume villanova uni had 2 cancel classes over a random "threat" lol like what if it wasnt a joke? u think its funny but if they had 2 investigate & take precautions, thats responsible. plus its not like they're gonna catch the person 2o otr or anything, might as well be safe than sorry
just thinkin' about this swatting thingy... like, who thought it was a good idea to threaten someone just to get a reaction? campus should be a safe space for everyone. i mean, universities are supposed to be hubs of learning and growth, not places where ppl feel threatened by some random threat online.
fbi leading the investigation is cool, but shouldn't they be doing more to stop these underground cybercrime groups? it's like they're just reacting after the fact. anyway, glad no one got hurt... but still thinkin' about how this can happen in the first place.
