Walton: Cello Concerto, Symphony No 1, Scapino album review – positively snaps, crackles and pops

I'm loving this latest album from John Wilson and the Sinfonia of London 🎵 Their rendition of Walton's Scapino overture is seriously giving me chills! I mean, Wilson's energy is infectious, but at the same time, it's really interesting to see how he balances that with the orchestra's precision. And Jonathan Aasgaard's cello concerto performance? Wow, so emotional and powerful 🤯 I do wish they'd been more adventurous in terms of tempi, though - some of those movements felt a tad too predictable. Still, overall, this is an amazing release, and Wilson's passion for Walton's music really shines through 💫
