man... thinkin bout this Gregory Berry situation is like, really heavy . 17 years locked up for a crime he didn't even commit? that's like, total life sentence of regret . and now they're offerin him freedom but only if he agrees not to take 'em to court? it's like, are we sayin' that justice is just a luxury we can't afford right now?
and what about all the other guys out there who might be in similar situations? the ones who don't have 17 years to rot away behind bars? what kinda system are we buildin if we're more worried 'bout keepin' a conviction intact than makin' sure it's fair?
it just makes me wonder, like, how many lives get ruined by a flawed system that's supposed to be about doin' what's right?
man this is crazy!!! Gregory Berry's story is like something out of a movie he spent 17 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit and now they're offering him a way out but it comes with a condition that's just plain wrong - he has to give up his right to sue the prosecutors who wronged him
I mean can you imagine being locked up for so long because of someone else's lies and then having to deal with the fallout after you get released? It's like they're trying to sweep it all under the rug
and what really gets me is that Berry's lawyer says the prosecutors withheld info about the coercive tactics used on his co-defendant - that's just plain shady
I'm all for giving people a second chance, but this feels like a fix and I don't think it's right that Gregory has to make a choice between freedom and justice
omg is this real life? 17 yrs in prison for a mistake he didn't even do and now he's being offered a deal where he has to give up his right to sue them if he wants to go free? that's just wrong what kind of system lets people get away with this kinda manipulation?
man... this is just crazy ! 17 yrs in prison for something he didn't do and now they're trying to silence him from speaking out about it? not cool at all . i mean, i get that we gotta protect our justice system and all but come on, coercive interrogations are a thing of the past now . the fact that prosecutors were hiding this info from Berry is just ridiculous. what's next, they're gonna try to shut down the CIU too?
