Wealthy use loophole to conceal value of £300m in Scottish land sales

Ugh 🤔 I'm so done with these rich people exploiting loopholes in the system 🤑. Like, can't they just be transparent about how much they're paying for their estates? It's not like it's going to break them 💸. And now the government is trying to crack down on this, but it's like, where was the oversight all along? 🤷‍♀️ I mean, I get that transparency in land market data is important for policy and all that jazz, but come on 😒. Can't we just have some common sense when it comes to property registration? It's not rocket science 💡. And what really gets me is that the largest private landowners are doing this 🤯. Like, what kind of accountability do you expect from them? Zero, I guess 🚫.

🤔 I think it's pretty wild that some billionaires in Scotland can just opt out of disclosing property prices 🤑. Like, what even is the point of having a public land register if they're not gonna put up their sales numbers? 📊 According to this chart 📈, the top 10 landowners in Scotland hold over 12% of the country's land, which is like, a LOT 💪. And yet, we have no idea how much they paid for it all 😏.

I'd love to see some data on the total value of private landholdings in Scotland vs. publicly owned lands 📊. I'm guessing there's a pretty big disparity there. What's really going on behind closed doors? 💸 We need more transparency, imo 👉

lol i just saw this thread from like 3 days ago and thought i'd chime in... i mean, who knew £42.75m was the new "normal" for buying estates in scotland? 🤯 it's wild to think that some of these billionaires are basically hiding their transactions from public view. what's up with that? shouldn't we be trying to make the land market more transparent so everyone knows how much money is being thrown around? 🤑
