What to do in Philly this week

Philly's Winter Wonderland: What to Do This Week

The City of Brotherly Love is heating up with a plethora of exciting events and activities to get you out and about. From theater premieres to family-friendly outings, there's something for everyone.

Get ready to solve a murder mystery at the Forrest Theatre, where the classic whodunit "Clue" opens its run starting Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pulitzer Prize winner James Ijames' "Good Bones" takes center stage at Arden Theatre Company beginning Thursday.

For those looking for an adrenaline rush, Dinos After Dark at the Academy of Natural Sciences offers an after-hours adventure perfect for kids and adults alike on Fridays. And if you're feeling bold, check out The Villain Arts Tattoo Festival at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, featuring live tattooing, artist showcases, and performances.

Foodies will love the Philly Chocolate, Wine & Whiskey Festival at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, where regional vendors offer a sweet and spirited experience. Ice on State: A Winter Weekend in Media is also back with skating, entertainment, and seasonal activities for all ages.

New exhibitions are now open at the Philadelphia Art Museum, Magic Gardens Museum, Pennsylvania Historical Society, and American Swedish Historical Museum. Don't miss the unveiling of a new public artwork as part of the 52 Weeks of Firsts series at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturdays.

Catch a basketball game by the 76ers at Xfinity Mobile Arena, taking place on January 20, 22, and 24. Alternatively, explore Piet Oudolf's breathtaking gardens at Calder Gardens, which are open from January 22-30.

Get inspired by "Five Seasons: The Gardens of Piet Oudolf" or immerse yourself in the stories of strength told in "Indivisible: Stories of Strength" at the American Swedish Historical Museum. Or bring your family to Sun & Snow Family Day at the Frances M. Maguire Art Museum on January 24.

Last but not least, Lucky Girl Market will be taking over Bok on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering a unique shopping experience like no other.

🌎 Philly's Winter Wonderland sounds like an awesome way to spend the cold winter days! I'm loving the mix of family-friendly activities, live events, and art exhibitions πŸŽ¨πŸ‘. That "Clue" murder mystery play at Forrest Theatre is super intriguing - I've always been a fan of whodunits! πŸ’‘ And Dinos After Dark sounds like an epic way to spend a Friday night with kids (or let's be real, adults who still love dinosaurs πŸ˜‚). But what's really got me excited is the Philly Chocolate, Wine & Whiskey Festival 🍰🍷 - sweet treats and good vibes are just what I need after a long week. Can't wait to check out some of these events and enjoy all that Philly has to offer! πŸ’–

Just saw that Philly's Winter Wonderland is in full swing πŸŽ„β€οΈ I've been thinking, what's the best way to enjoy all these events and activities without breaking the bank? I think it's about prioritizing what matters most to you, whether it's trying out a new art exhibit or enjoying some quality time with family. Don't be afraid to mix and match – attend a concert one night and then grab brunch with friends the next. That way, you can soak up all the city has to offer without overspending πŸ’Έ

I'm soooo hyped for this Philly Winter Wonderland 🀩, I mean... what's not to love? We've got murder mysteries to solve, tattoos to get, and chocolates to indulge in! But hold on, wait a minute... are we really ready for all these activities? What about some chill winter vibes, you know, hot chocolate by the fireplace, or just staying indoors with a good book? I mean, don't get me wrong, it sounds like super fun, but can't we have a little downtime too? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

And another thing... have you seen the size of those crowds at some of these events? Like, how am I supposed to fit in and enjoy myself with all these people? Can't we just keep it small and intimate for once? But nope, it's like everyone wants to be a part of this Winter Wonderland extravaganza! πŸŽ‰

But hey... if you're the type who loves a good party atmosphere, then go for it! You do you! Just don't expect me to join in on all the craziness πŸ˜‚.

omg u guys i'm literally SO down for the Philly Chocolate, Wine & Whiskey Festival 🍰🍷 it's gonna be such a sweet escape from this cold winter we need some of that liquid love ASAP πŸ’• i've heard great things about the Dinos After Dark event too tho my little nephews are super into dinosaurs rn can't wait to take them there on friday night for an epic after hours adventure πŸ¦–πŸŽ‰

omg u gotta check out Dinos After Dark at the Academy of Natural Sciences πŸ¦– it's gonna be so much fun for kids & adults alike! I'm thinking of taking my little sis there on Friday night, we can get all spooky & have a blast πŸ˜ˆπŸŽƒ. and has anyone heard about Lucky Girl Market? I've been seeing all these cute pics on instagram & i wanna check out that unique shopping experience πŸ’–πŸ›οΈ

I'm so done with all these winter festivals and events 🀣. Can't we just have one normal week without some crazy thing going on? I mean, I love Philly as much as the next person, but seriously, it's like they're trying to cram an entire year of fun into one month. And don't even get me started on the tattoo festival... who thought that was a good idea? πŸ˜‚

🀩 I'm so stoked that Philly is kicking off winter with such an epic lineup of events! πŸŽ‰ First off, I think it's awesome that there's something for every age and interest - from murder mysteries to tattoo festivals (who knew?!)... 🀯 But what really gets me excited is the foodie scene - a chocolate, wine, and whiskey festival? 🍫🍷 Yes please! And have you seen the new exhibitions at the Philly Art Museum and Magic Gardens Museum? 😍 Piet Oudolf's gardens are like nothing I've ever seen before... πŸŒΊπŸ’š The 76ers game on Jan 20th is gonna be a blast too, even if I'm not a huge basketball fan... πŸ€πŸ‘

πŸ€” This Philly's Winter Wonderland thing sounds like so much fun! I'm all about that theatre vibes, especially with the "Clue" premiere - I mean, who doesn't love solving a murder mystery? 🧐 And for those with an adventurous streak, Dinos After Dark and The Villain Arts Tattoo Festival are right up my alley. πŸ¦–πŸ’‰ But, can we talk about how convenient all these events are? Like, what's the deal with the multiple locations for the same activities? Shouldn't they just put everything in one place? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

OMG u guys! 🀩 I'm so stoked for Philly's Winter Wonderland!!! πŸŽ„πŸŒŸ They got so many dope events goin on this wk! πŸ“† Solve a murder mystery with Clue at the Forrest Theatre, lolol what a thrill! πŸ˜‚ Or catch a 76ers game @ Xfinity Arena, that's always gonna be lit πŸ”₯! And if u r into food, Philly Choc, Wine & Whiskey Fest is lookin like a dream come true 🍰🍷! 🎨 They got all sorts of exhibitions open at the art museums too, like Magic Gardens and American Swedish Historical Museum... its gonna b a great wk in Philly!!! πŸ€—

I'm so stoked for the Philly Chocolate, Wine & Whiskey Festival 🍰🍷! Who doesn't love indulging in sweet treats and sipping on some good whiskey? It sounds like such a fun event, and I need to try out all those regional vendors ASAP. The Dinos After Dark at the Academy of Natural Sciences also looks like so much fun - my inner kid is totally down for an after-hours adventure with dinosaurs πŸ¦–!

Man I remember when Philly was still just a bunch of neighborhoods and not this fancy touristy stuff 🀣. Winter Wonderland's got all the bells and whistles but it's still a great time to get out and about in the city. I'm low-key excited for Dinos After Dark, my niece loves that stuff and it'll be so cool to see her little ones getting all geeked up on dinosaurs at night πŸ¦–. And can't forget about the festivals - Philly Chocolate, Wine & Whiskey Festival sounds like a total sugar rush, but I'd rather stick with the free ice skating at Ice on State πŸ˜‚.

I'm so stoked for Philly in the winter 🀩! It's like, you can't just walk around the city without something fun happening every single day. I mean, have you seen that new exhibit at the Philadelphia Art Museum? It's got some really cool pieces from their collection, including a bunch of art from local artists 🎨.

And omg, the food festival at the Expo Center is gonna be EPIC! I've heard they're gonna have so many vendors with amazing treats and drinks, it's like a winter wonderland in itself β˜•οΈ. But, for real though, what really gets me excited is all the awesome events for families. Like, who doesn't love skating or ice on state? It's such a great way to spend time with your little ones during the colder months ❄️.

But, I think what I love most about Philly in the winter is how everyone comes together to make it happen. Whether it's the art museums or the theaters or just random markets popping up in weird places, there's always something going on. It's like, the whole city is one big happy event πŸŽ‰. So, if you're planning a trip to Philly anytime soon, I say go for it! There's literally something for everyone, and trust me, you won't be bored 😊

OMG, I just got back from the most epic road trip with my fam and we saw the cutest little cafe in the middle of nowhere that served the best milkshakes 🍦🍰! Like, we were driving through this random town and the sign said 'Moo's Creamy Treats' and we just had to stop. The owner was so nice and she made us these massive sundaes with like, a million toppings πŸ˜‚. I think it was like $10 each but trust me, it was worth it! Anyway, back to Philly... have you ever tried getting ice cream at this one shop near Rittenhouse Square? It's literally the best thing since sliced bread πŸžπŸ‘Œ

I mean, think about it... our lives are just one big puzzle, and Philly's Winter Wonderland is like that ultimate whodunit πŸ€”... people got all these different pieces of events and activities that can either make or break their week, you know? And then there's the thrill of exploring new exhibitions and experiences... but what does it really mean to be inspired or to find strength in a story? Is it just about external validation, or is it something deeper within us? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

omg i'm so down for dinos after dark πŸ¦–πŸŽ‰ i was thinking of taking my class on a field trip to the academy of natural sciences last year but it got cancelled due to covid πŸ€• hopefully they can make it happen this time around πŸ’ͺ the 76ers game sounds like a blast too i love basketball πŸ€ and piot oudolf's gardens look stunning 🌺

idk why ppl r always so excited about winter wonderlands πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ it's just snowing and people wanna have fun who needs all these events tho? can't they just stay home and chill with a cuppa β˜•οΈ instead of wasting money on tickets & stuff i mean, what's the point of cluE or dinos after dark or tattoo festival 🀣

Ugh, winter in Philly is just so... much. I mean, can't we just have one season without something going on? But I guess that's not how it works here πŸ˜’. So, if you're looking for things to do, I suppose the murder mystery at Forrest Theatre sounds kinda cool. And if you're feeling brave, the tattoo festival could be a fun way to spend an evening (as long as you don't get too much ink πŸ’‰). The food fest and skating events sound like they'd be great for families, though - my kid would love that! πŸ€—
