I'm not sure I agree that deploying National Guard troops is a bad idea...

I mean, if it's meant to keep order during protests, maybe it's necessary? But at the same time, it does feel like a heavy-handed move from the feds...

Like, can't they just let us handle our own stuff for once?
And yeah, history is clear that when the government uses force to suppress dissent, it's a slippery slope...

But what if we're not even protesting anything? What if we're just exercising our right to free speech and assembly? I guess it's hard to know for sure without more context.
I think some of these mayor candidates are trying to be a bit too perfect on the issue, you know? Mary Sheffield is being way too idealistic about "defending autonomy"...

And Solomon Kinloch seems pretty reasonable, but what if he's just playing it safe to get elected? We need more nuanced thinking here.
We should be talking about how we can work together to build trust between the city and the federal government...

Instead of just pitting them against each other. Maybe there's a way to find common ground without sacrificing our rights in the process?
