Why are there so many goalless draws in the Premier League this season?

I think its kinda weird how teams are focusing on defense so much now . Like I get it, defensive solidity is key and all but when you're not even taking shots like crazy, it feels like youre playing a different game altogether . Piqué's idea of penalizing teams for no-go matches makes sense but its gonna take more than just a few tweaks to the rules to get back to the high-scoring matches we used to love . I'm hoping coaches start to notice that fans are losing interest in these 0-0 draws and make some changes to bring back the excitement .

I'm seeing all these 0-0 draws in the Premier League lately and I gotta say, it's a bit dull. I mean, don't get me wrong, defensive solidity is great and all , but come on, where are the goals?! It's like teams are being too cautious out there . Gerard Piqué's idea of penalizing teams for going goalless might just be what it takes to spice things up . I'm not sure if awarding zero points is the answer tho . Maybe the solution lies in finding a balance between defense and attack? Like, teams can still focus on defending well, but also be more aggressive when they have the chance to score . The fans deserve better than just watching paint dry ️!
