Wing's Drone Delivery Network Set to Expand Across US: Walmart on Board for Additional 150 Stores
As the demand for same-day grocery delivery continues to soar, Alphabet-owned Wing is gearing up to deliver even more. The company has partnered with Walmart to offer drone delivery services at an additional 150 locations across major cities in Los Angeles, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Miami, and others. This significant expansion marks a major milestone in the partnership between two retail giants.
According to Wing, its top 25 percent of customers have opted for the service as often as three times a week, underscoring the growing appetite for fast, efficient delivery solutions. To meet this demand, Wing and Walmart aim to serve up to 40 million US customers by 2027, with plans to establish a network of 270 delivery locations across the country.
The partnership, which launched in August last year with an initial rollout in Dallas-Fort Worth, has seen significant growth in recent months. In June 2025, Wing and Walmart expanded their coverage to 100 additional stores in Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Orlando, and Tampa. The two companies have continued to roll out their service at a rapid pace, launching deliveries in Atlanta just last month and announcing plans for a launch in Houston later this month.
Wing's expansion into the US market has been largely driven by commercial partnerships with retailers like Walgreens, where it began offering drone delivery services for health and wellness products back in April 2022. Since then, Wing has partnered with DoorDash and Apian to expand its reach further. The company is also working on a new, more advanced delivery drone capable of flying at speeds of up to 65 mph and carrying payloads of up to five pounds β double its current capacity.
With this latest expansion, Wing's drone delivery network is set to become even more widespread, bringing the convenience of fast, same-day delivery to millions of customers across the US.
