Winter is back in Franklin Square, bringing with it a kaleidoscope of seasonal delights. The Electrical Spectacle Light Show has returned to the historic square, illuminating the night sky with hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights choreographed to winter music.
Visitors can warm up around outdoor fire pits and enjoy hot beverages with optional spiked additions, perfect for braving the chill. Street curling, a no-ice version of the Olympic-inspired sport, is also available to book in 30-minute sessions β an exciting twist on the traditional winter activity.
For some festive fun, visitors can tee off at Chilly Philly Mini Golf, currently decked out for winter through January 25th before transitioning to a LOVE-themed course for February. Tickets are affordable, with prices starting at $12 for children ages 3-12 and free for under-twos.
In the evenings, Frosty's Fireside Lodge pops up as a heated pop-up bar serving handcrafted cocktails, warm cider drinks, and seasonal snacks. SquareBurger is also open during both daytime and evening hours, offering comfort food with winter-inspired additions.
Several special events are coming up throughout the season, including Boozy Ben's Birthday "Bengo", Martin Luther King Jr. Service Weekend, Ice Princess Night, Valentine's-themed mini golf, Presidents' Day Quizzo, and a Lunar New Year celebration. With something for everyone, Winter in Franklin Square is not to be missed.
The free light show runs every 30 minutes from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays, until February 28th. Visitors can access the square via PATCO, SEPTA, or nearby parking options. So bundle up and get ready for a winter wonderland in Franklin Square.
