Rob Edwards has come under fire from some of his own fans after a dismal 4-1 defeat at home to Manchester United, but he says he understands the anger and frustration they're feeling.
The Wolves boss acknowledged that the result would be frustrating for supporters who were expecting more from their team. "I understand their anger," Edwards said in a post-match press conference. "We knew it wouldn't be easy coming up against one of the top teams in the league, but to lose 4-1 is not what we wanted."
Edwards took responsibility for the defeat, saying that his side didn't match Manchester United's intensity and quality. "We couldn't compete with their pace and energy, and that ultimately cost us the game," he admitted.
The manager also highlighted the importance of learning from mistakes. "We need to analyze what went wrong and make sure we don't repeat those errors. It's not just about the result, it's about how we respond as a team."
Despite the disappointing outcome, Edwards remained optimistic about his side's prospects for the remainder of the season. "We have a lot of young players in our squad who are learning and developing quickly," he said. "I'm proud of their efforts and I'm confident that with some adjustments and a bit of luck, we can turn things around."
