The update allows users to view the country of origin and any changes made to their usernames. Additionally, the feature provides insights into how an account was created – including whether it's connected to a specific app store or accessed through the web.

This new feature builds on existing measures implemented by rival platforms such as Facebook's Page transparency and Instagram's own 'About this account'. By verifying user authenticity, X aims to combat misinformation.

Currently, users can view their own profile information by clicking the 'Joined' button under their bio.
