I mean, how can we be proud of a system that's basically persecuting people for being in the wrong place at the wrong time? Ugh, this just reinforces my theory that celebrities are all about the optics . Zoey Deutch's statement sounds like a carefully crafted PR move to get some attention rather than a genuine cry for help from someone who actually cares about the issue at hand . And don't even get me started on the whole "I'm ashamed and proud" thing - it's just code for "I'm trying to be woke, but I'm still an American, so I guess I can kinda justify the government's actions?"

And what's up with all these celebrities wearing those pins? Is this really a movement or is it just a fancy way of saying "look at me, I'm making a statement"? It feels like they're more concerned about their own reputations than actually doing something concrete to make a difference .
