Two men were caught in the crossfire of a hail of bullets in Austin's 500 block of North Central Avenue early Saturday morning, leaving one dead and another injured. According to eyewitnesses, three masked assailants emerged from a vehicle and opened fire on the unsuspecting bystanders at approximately 11:25am.
The deceased victim was identified as a 30-year-old man who was rushed to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. His name has yet to be made public due to ongoing investigations. His 26-year-old companion, who sustained a graze wound on his foot, refused medical treatment and was subsequently released from the scene.

this is just awful! i mean what's with these mask-wearing psychos? can't they see they're gonna get caught or hurt someone?! and to think it happened right in the middle of the day, like what were they even doing out there waiting for a victim?! 
the fact that no one's been arrested yet is just frustrating, i want answers now! how many more innocent lives gotta be lost because of some cowardly act? my heart goes out to the family of the dead guy, can't imagine what they're going through 
! I mean, who expects to get caught in the crossfire like that?
