Ugh, Meta's latest move just smells like another PR stunt to me


. They're trying to swoop in and save journalism by partnering with major news orgs, but I'm not buying it

. We all know their track record on this front is sketchy at best... remember that "Trending news" module debacle back in 2016?

And let's not forget about their attempts to boost video revenue at the expense of actual journalism

.
I'm also skeptical about them claiming they're committed to diverse sources when it's probably just a way for them to push their own agenda

. What's to stop them from cherry-picking stories that fit their narrative? It's like they think we're all just going to take their word for it... newsflash: we're not

.
It's time for Meta (and other tech giants) to put their money where their mouth is and invest in actual journalism, not just PR stunts

. Until then, I'll be taking this partnership with a grain of salt
