Missing Louisiana girl, 13, rescued from box in Pennsylvania basement

Thirteen-year-old Louisiana girl found alive in box in Pennsylvania basement, evidence of sex assault revealed.

A shocking case of online exploitation has emerged after a 13-year-old girl from Louisiana was discovered alive in a box beneath a Pennsylvania man's home. Ki-Shawn Crumity, 26, is facing serious charges for allegedly grooming and sexually abusing the teenager.

According to authorities, the girl disappeared on October 20th while chatting with Crumity online. The investigation, involving multiple states, led police to Pittsburgh, where they found her trapped in a sheet-covered box in Crumity's basement.

The teenager had been transported by bus from Louisiana to Pennsylvania and was subjected to repeated acts of sex assault over the course of about a week, according to investigators. During a statement with authorities, the girl reportedly described how she met Crumity on Snapchat and was told he would help her get adopted by a trusted adult.

Crumity has been denied bail following his arrest. Three other men have also been apprehended in connection with the case, including a 62-year-old man from Georgia who is accused of helping to temporarily disappear the girl, as well as two others who are linked to Crumity's basement at the time of her rescue.

Law enforcement agencies warn that social media poses significant dangers for vulnerable individuals. Louisiana's attorney general has stated that the incident serves as a stark reminder of the need to protect young people from exploitation online.

OMG, this is like soooo disturbing ๐Ÿ˜ฑ! How can someone even do this to a poor kid? I mean, Crumity's 26 and he's been using his age advantage and Snapchat charm to lure her into that horrific situation... what kinda monster does that?! ๐Ÿคฏ And the fact that there were other guys involved too, it just shows how sick and twisted these ppl are. Social media is meant to connect us not hurt us, you know? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ The girl's bravery in speaking out about her experience is truly inspiring though ๐Ÿ’ช. We gotta be more vigilant about online safety esp for minors ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿฝ. Law enforcement should be giving parents and kids tips on how to report suspicious activity & stay safe online ๐Ÿ’ก. This case is a huge wake-up call! ๐Ÿšจ

๐Ÿ˜ฑ this is just horrific, how can someone be so cruel?! ๐Ÿคฏ a 13-year-old girl, just trying to make friends online, ends up being trapped and abused in a box under some dude's basement... it's just disgusting. ๐Ÿšฎ the fact that these people thought they could get away with this is just appalling. ๐Ÿ™„ social media needs better protection for kids, it's not safe out there. ๐ŸŒ we need to be more vigilant about who our kids are interacting with online. ๐Ÿค

OH MY GOSH this is just so heartbreaking ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ฑ I can't even imagine what she must've gone through being trapped in that box and subjected to all that abuse... it's just horrific. Crumity's actions are absolutely despicable and I'm glad he's behind bars where he belongs. The fact that social media was used as a tool for exploitation is so disturbing ๐Ÿค”. We need to be more careful about what we share online and make sure we're not putting ourselves or others in harm's way. My heart goes out to the poor girl who survived this and I hope she gets the help and support she needs ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒŸ

I'm literally shook by this case ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’”. The fact that someone so young was manipulated and exploited like this is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿ˜ญ. It's absolutely appalling how Ki-Shawn Crumity thought he could get away with such heinous crimes, using his age advantage to build trust with the poor girl ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ. The idea that she was told he'd help her find a trusted adult is just disgusting ๐Ÿคข. We need to be having serious conversations about online safety and protecting our vulnerable youth ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’ป. This case needs to serve as a wake-up call for all of us, including parents and social media platforms ๐ŸŒŸ. Let's work together to create a safer online community where no one has to suffer like this girl did ๐Ÿ˜•. #JusticeForTheVictim #OnlineSafetyMatters #ProtectOurYouth

My heart just sank reading this news ๐Ÿค•. Can you imagine being 13 and having your life turned upside down in an instant? It's just horrific thinking about Ki-Shawn Crumity exploiting that poor girl for his own twisted desires. The fact that he told her he'd help her get adopted by a trusted adult is just devastating... she must've been so scared & alone ๐Ÿค”.

I think this case highlights the importance of being super careful when it comes to online interactions, especially with strangers ๐Ÿšจ. Social media can be a beautiful thing, but we have to be mindful of the potential dangers lurking in the shadows ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ. It's heartbreaking that Louisiana's attorney general has had to warn people about this very issue... as a society, we need to be more vigilant & protective of our young ones ๐Ÿค.

It's also really sad that Ki-Shawn Crumity didn't get the help he needed when he was younger... sometimes I wish we could go back in time and give kids like him a chance to break free from situations that are holding them back ๐ŸŒˆ. Anyway, I just want to make sure everyone knows about this case & is on high alert for any signs of online exploitation... we can't let this kind of thing happen again ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I mean, seriously, how hard is it to protect a 13-year-old girl from people like Crumity? ๐Ÿคฏ He was able to talk his way into her trust and then turn on her in the worst possible way. And what's even more shocking is that he used Snapchat as the platform to groom her! ๐Ÿ“ฑ It's crazy how social media can be both a blessing and a curse, right?

I'm also super annoyed that it took an entire investigation across multiple states for someone to actually do something about this. I mean, Crumity was only 26 when he started doing this, so you'd think the authorities would've caught on sooner. But no, they had to wait until a girl ended up in a box in his basement ๐Ÿ“ฆ before anyone took action. It's just... ๐Ÿ˜’

Ugh I'm still trying to wrap my head around this ๐Ÿคฏ ... 13 yrs old trapped in a box, can't even... how did we not know about this sooner? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ it's just so messed up that she was told someone would help her get adopted by a trusted adult, when really it was all a lie. ๐Ÿ˜ก and now there are multiple people involved, like what kinda monster does that to a kid? ๐Ÿšซ the fact that social media is supposed to be a safe space for kids is just wild... they need to do so much better than this ๐Ÿ‘Ž

I don't think it's fair to blame parents and guardians for letting their kids use Snapchat, I mean, it's like they can't even monitor what their teens are doing online anymore ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ. But at the same time, Ki-Shawn Crumity is 26, that's an adult, he should know better... but maybe he was just really good at hiding his true intentions? ๐Ÿค”

And what about social media companies, they need to do more to protect their young users, I mean, it's not like these kids are just going to magically know how to stay safe online ๐Ÿ™„. But on the other hand, Ki-Shawn Crumity was allegedly grooming her for weeks before she disappeared... maybe he was a master manipulator and social media companies can't keep up with that ๐Ÿ’ป.

I don't think anyone is completely blameless in this situation, we all need to take responsibility and be more mindful of how our actions (or lack thereof) might affect others ๐Ÿค. But at the same time, Ki-Shawn Crumity was a grown adult who exploited a 13-year-old girl... that's just wrong on so many levels ๐Ÿ˜ก.

omg, this is just horrific ๐Ÿคฏ how could someone be so twisted and sick ?? Ki-Shawn Crumity's excuse about helping her get adopted by a trusted adult is literally mind-blowing ๐Ÿ˜ฉ and the fact that he thought it was okay to kidnap and abuse a 13-year-old girl... I mean, what even is wrong with people?? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm so glad the girl made it out alive though ๐Ÿ’• and that law enforcement agencies are taking this case seriously. It's crazy how much evidence they found on Crumity's devices and social media profiles... it just goes to show how vulnerable online we can be ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

And let's not forget about those other 3 guys involved in this sick scheme ๐Ÿค like, how do people even get into these situations with kids? The investigation is saying that the girl was transported by bus from Louisiana to Pennsylvania, and then she's stuck in a box in Crumity's basement for weeks... it's just so disturbing ๐Ÿ˜จ

The social media companies need to take responsibility for this too ๐Ÿค” I mean, they know how these situations happen when people use their platforms without proper checks... this case is like, super clear evidence of that ๐Ÿ’ฏ

OMG, this is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿค•! I'm so glad the girl was found alive and getting the help she needs. It's just sickening to think about what happened to her - being taken advantage of by someone who pretended to be a trusted adult ๐Ÿ˜ก. And the fact that it was all done online, using social media platforms like Snapchat, is just mind-boggling ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, I know kids need to learn about online safety and how to protect themselves, but this case is just a huge wake-up call for parents too ๐Ÿค”. We need to be even more vigilant and have those conversations with our kids about who they can trust online and what red flags to watch out for ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿผ. And what's even crazier is that three other men were involved in some way - it just goes to show how hard it is to keep these kinds of predators at bay ๐Ÿš”. I hope the girl gets all the help she needs and becomes a strong, brave young woman ๐Ÿ’ช!

This is literally so messed up ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. I was like 13 when I joined Snapchat and it was supposed to be this amazing way to connect with friends, but now I'm so glad I never really dove in that deep. Like, Crumity was able to manipulate this girl into thinking he could help her get adopted... it's just heartbreaking ๐Ÿค•. And the fact that he lured her there and did all these horrible things to her... *shudder*. The thing is though, we gotta talk about this and educate ourselves about how to be safe online. I mean, social media companies need to do better at protecting us, especially when it comes to minors. We can't just rely on our parents or guardians to know everything - they're busy too, you feel? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Anyway, I'm just glad the girl is alive and that justice is being served... this case needs to be a wake-up call for all of us! ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿค• this case is just so disturbing, I mean, who would do something like that to a poor kid? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ i know Crumity's family and friends are all shocked by these allegations but we have to remember he's 26 and in his prime years when he started grooming her, it's just not right. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ the fact that she was told he'd help her get adopted by a trusted adult is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿ˜ญ. i don't think Crumity deserves bail yet but maybe a trial will give more info on what went down in their twisted relationship. ๐Ÿค social media is indeed a double-edged sword, some people use it to harm others which is just unacceptable ๐Ÿ’”.
