Netflix will revamp its mobile UI this year

Netflix is set to revamp its mobile user interface later this year, according to co-CEO Greg Peters, who announced the plan in an earnings call. The new design aims to "better serve the expansion of our business over the decade to come." It's a follow-up to last year's significant TV revamp that introduced a prominent banner recommending content on the home screen.

The mobile redesign is expected to provide a more flexible canvas, allowing for future iteration and evolution of Netflix's offerings. Peters emphasized that the new UI will serve as a platform for continuous improvement, testing, and refinement.

Interestingly, Peters also touched upon vertical video, which has been a topic of discussion lately. While it's not currently a priority for Netflix, the company is already experimenting with vertical video feeds in its mobile app, featuring clips from popular shows and movies. In the future, Peters hinted that these clips might extend to other formats, such as those found in video podcasts โ€“ an area increasingly important to the streaming giant.

Ugh, I'm getting old, remember when we used to use those tiny phones? Now you can watch Netflix on your phone and it's like having a mini TV in your pocket ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ’ป. Anyway, so they're revamping the mobile UI, cool, I guess. It sounds like they want to make it more flexible for future updates and stuff. And oh boy, vertical video is coming! I remember watching those old flip phones with MMS videos, this is crazy ๐Ÿ˜‚. But for real though, video podcasts are gonna be a big deal now, I can already see it. They're experimenting with it on their app and it's not even official yet ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ธ. Can't wait to see what they come up with!

So the big changes are coming! ๐Ÿคฏ I'm kinda curious about this new mobile UI. The banner thing was a nice touch last year, and if they can make it even more intuitive, that's a win. But I hope they don't lose any of that personalized feel we love about Netflix ๐Ÿ˜Š.

And vertical video? Yeah, I've been seeing those clips in the app too! It's like they're trying to get us used to watching stuff differently. Not sure if I'm down for it, but I guess it could be cool to have more formats to choose from ๐Ÿค”.

One thing that bugs me is how long does this redesign take? Like, we've been waiting for the TV revamp for ages, and now they're talking about a mobile redo too. Can't they just get everything sorted out already? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Ugh, another big change coming to Netflix ๐Ÿคฏ... I mean, I get it, gotta stay ahead of the game and all that jazz ๐Ÿ’ป. But what's with these mobile UI revamps? They're always making some sort of tweak or addition, but do we really need it? The old interface was fine, you know? ๐Ÿ˜Š Don't get me wrong, I'm all for improvement and innovation, but sometimes less is more, right? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ Still, I guess it's cool that they're experimenting with vertical video. That stuff's been around for ages, but hey, if Netflix makes it pop (no pun intended), who cares? ๐Ÿ˜Š

omg u guys I'm so stoked about this news ๐Ÿคฉ! a mobile UI revamp is like, super needed for netflix - it's been feeling all wonky on my phone lately ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ’” but i guess that new tv redesign was a good start ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ‘ and now they're gonna make the app even better? that vertical video thing tho... i'm kinda hyped about that ๐Ÿ˜Ž if it means we get more cool vids in podcasts, yes pls! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿค” You know, I've been using Netflix for years and it's always amazin' how they keep innovatin' ๐Ÿ“บ. Now they're workin' on a new mobile UI and I gotta say, I'm curious ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. A more flexible canvas sounds like a great idea, 'cause let's face it, the current one can be a bit clunky at times ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ.

I also love that they're keepin' an ear out for vertical video ๐Ÿ‘€. It's definitely somethin' we'll see more of in the future, and I'm not entirely sure about it, but it could be kinda cool ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Video podcasts are a great idea, though โ€“ it's like the next big thing ๐Ÿš€! Can't wait to see what they come up with next ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ‘

You know what's crazy? We're living in a time where our screens are getting more and more advanced, but we still spend most of our time adjusting the settings and scrolling through menus ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ˜ด. It's like we're constantly trying to optimize for nothing, just so we can have a better viewing experience. And now Netflix is revamping its mobile UI โ€“ yawn... or is it? I think this is actually a reflection of how our brains are wired to crave simplicity and ease. We want to be able to access whatever content we want without having to navigate through menus and whatnot. The more the design can get out of our way, the better ๐Ÿ˜Š. But at the same time, that flexibility for future evolution is pretty cool too. I guess it just goes to show how we're constantly trying to balance progress with the need for simplicity in a world where information is overflowing like a never-ending ocean ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’ป

ugh, great just what we need another revamp ๐Ÿ™„... like i was enjoying the outdated interface on my phone anyway... 12 more months of beta testing and who knows when it'll be done? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ and what's with this vertical video nonsense? why fix what ain't broke, right? ๐Ÿ’” just gonna make everything all wobbly and unwatchable ๐Ÿ“บ

๐Ÿค” so Netflix is gonna revamp their mobile UI again? I'm kinda hyped about this! They're already experimenting with vertical video on their app and it's actually kinda cool ๐Ÿ“บ. I think a new design would be a great opportunity for them to make the mobile experience even more user-friendly and fun ๐Ÿ˜Š. I mean, who doesn't love a clean and intuitive interface? ๐Ÿ‘ And I'm also curious about this idea of testing and refining their offerings on the new UI... maybe they'll introduce some new features that we don't know about yet ๐Ÿค”. Can't wait to see what they come up with! ๐Ÿ’ป

just heard about this ๐Ÿคฉ nintendo switch oled is coming soon and i'm hyped ! but anyway back to netflix ๐Ÿ“บ they need to hurry up with this mobile revamp can't believe its been a year since their tv revamp was released, it's time for some serious design love ๐Ÿš€ the whole banner thing on the home screen was nice, but i'm all about that minimalism and clean UI ๐Ÿ’ป vertical video is an interesting move tho, i can see them experimenting with more formats like podcasts and stuff ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿค” I'm kinda excited about Netflix's mobile UI revamp... but also a bit skeptical ๐Ÿ“‰. On one hand, it's awesome they're taking steps to improve their app and adapt to the evolving user experience ๐Ÿ’ป. More flexible canvas = more room for innovation, right? ๐Ÿ˜Š But on the other hand, I'm not convinced they'll actually deliver on their promise of continuous improvement ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. We've seen them experiment with new features before only to abandon them later... ๐Ÿšฎ Still, I guess it's better than nothing ๐Ÿ˜Š. And hey, if vertical video becomes a thing, that could be interesting ๐Ÿ‘€. But for now, I'm gonna keep my expectations in check ๐Ÿคž.

I'm a bit surprised Netflix is revamping their mobile UI again, but I guess it's about time! ๐Ÿค” They've been on top of things for so long, they need a refresh to stay competitive. I mean, vertical video has been popping up everywhere and those TV shows/movies clips are just the beginning. It's cool that they're experimenting with new formats like video podcasts - it's not all about binge-watching anymore! ๐Ÿ‘€ The fact that Peters said it'll be a platform for continuous improvement is a good sign too. Hopefully, this update will make the app feel more modern and intuitive on my phone. ๐Ÿ’ป

I'm low-key excited for Netflix's mobile UI revamp ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ป, but also kinda nervous it'll change how I binge-watch my favorite shows ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. On a more serious note, vertical video is gonna be HUGE (literally and figuratively) soon! Can you imagine scrolling through your podcast faves in vertical mode? Mind blown ๐Ÿคฏ! But for real though, it's cool to see Netflix experimenting with new formats... now let's hope they don't make us watch those "Vertical Video: The Future" explainer videos ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ˜ด.
