i mean dont get me wrong id watch phantom thread or casablanca again in a heartbeat but like some of these modern releases tho like portrait of a lady on fire is actually kinda amazing 
the cinematography is insane and its like wow how did they do that??

Hold up, folks! I gotta correct one thing here... "Portait of a Lady on Fire" is actually a French film, not English, and it's set in 18th century France, not just anywhere 
. And while I love the film, let's be real, some of these movies are overhyped - have you seen "Moulin Rouge!"? It's like a sugar rush, but doesn't really hold up after the first watch 
. Anyway, if you're looking for some real romance vibes, check out "Like Crazy" or "The One I Love"... those are some underrated gems in my opinion 
. and what about when reality doesn't match the fantasy? still think we should give ourselves credit for finding love in our own ways, no matter how imperfect 
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it can't be a lovely holiday, but let's be real, some of these movies are kinda cheesy and over-the-top 
Those overly dramatic moments that make you wanna cry or scream just feel like an act to me. And don't even get me started on the music in Once - it's beautiful and all, but sometimes I think it can be a bit too on-the-nose
