OMG, 16 Oscar nominations for Sinners?!

That's like, crazy! I mean, I can see why people thought it had a good shot at getting more recognition, but 16? That's a lot!

According to box office numbers, Sinners has made over $500 million worldwide, which is insane!

Meanwhile, American Dream was supposed to be the frontrunner for Best Picture, but nope... it's like, what happened?!
I love how international representation is on the rise at the Oscars, btw

. Japan, South Korea, and Brazil all got some major recognition, which is awesome!

It's about time we see more diverse voices in Hollywood.
According to Wikipedia, Sinners has a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score, but I'm still not convinced it's the best film of the year...

What do you guys think?!
Stats alert:
- Sinners' 16 Oscar nominations are the most since The King's Speech in 2011.

- American Dream has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 85%, which is still solid, but not as high as Sinners'.

- The average Oscar nomination for Best Picture films between 2000 and 2023 was 10.6!
